And Nintendo doesn't usually announce end-of-week Directs at the beginning of the week. They're always a day or two prior. I knew something was off in light of that.

Nintendo 3DS D-
Oh wait, I was late.
Now this is interesting. 3DS Direct? All I've been hearing were Wii U stuff as far as 2014 games are concerned - Mario Kart and Captain Toad and such. The only 3DS news I can think of is the Kirby games, which were out in Japan looong ago.
Well, this should mean we're getting information on new games. Though I'm pretty satisfied with both of my 3DS now that I don't really need to see new games for it.

Whoa.... I'm speechless. Things showcased include: - Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U: Shulk is playable - Bravely Second, and the free trial Brave Default: for the Sequel - New Final Fantasy ARPG - New Etrian Odyssey 2 - Nintendo 3DS October update: you will now have themed menus (both paid an free) - New Nintendo 3DS / New Nintendo 3DS XL: --- Eye tracking for 3D viewing at an angle --- C-stick, ZL, ZR included; compatible with Smash 3DS --- Coloured ABXY button that matches the Japanese/European SNES --- New Nintendo 3DS only (not for XL): customisable plates --- Auto brightness adjustment --- Better processing power --- New Nintendo 3DS game: Xenoblade remake --- Release date: 11 October (Japan), 2015 (NA, Europe) www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/new/index.html...Now this is a "powered-up" system that I actually want. Nintendo DSi added nothing I wanted, but this one does. Buying a third 3DS still seems like a waste for me, though,so I'll probably pass.

Oh man, guess I'll have to wait and see if they'll bother porting Xenoblade to 3DS here too. I want to check it out after hearing about the huge amounts of exploration the game offers, but those 100$ Ebay prices... nevermind that.

If you live in the US, check the Gamestop website. $40 used copies.

Unless you want the new 3DS hardware, buying the Wii version is still cheaper.

GoddamnitIf you live in the US, check the Gamestop website. $40 used copies. Ah dang, woe is me living in PAL land.. Guess I'll just have to cross those fingers for that EU 3DS release, buy Nintendo's next handheld somewhere in 2018 and go the eShop way (or pull some hairs when it doesn't support 3DS software).

Ah dang, woe is me living in PAL land.. I checked Amazon UK after watching the Smash trailer, and they had it new for £40. It's more expensive than you'd expect a Wii game to be, but still cheaper than current gen games.

No real big announcements here (no, she's not in Smash), but Bayonetta also has a Star Fox costume now: No matter what costume she wears, it always comes off looking kinda creepy to me. Or maybe it's just her. Still getting the game, tho.
