Just like Cuphead, former Xbox exclusive Ori and the Blind Forest is confirmed for Switch.

Well, I thought this was a pretty good Direct, even though it seemed to focus on games we already knew about. And I don't just mean leaks, but previously announced games. (Although speaking of leaks, have those been getting even worse lately?) Anyway, I won't go through the whole thing, but I'll just talk about a few points. - Terry Bogard in Smash UltimateWell, there really is an SNK character in Smash! I don't intend to buy Smash Ultimate just for Terry Bogard, but I love that he's in there, and I look forward to the inevitable amiibo. Also, the reveal trailer was cool. The funny thing is, I randomly started playing SNK Heroines again last week. The next day, the Japanese trailer for the Switch version of Samurai Shodown was released. A couple of days later, the rumor of an SNK character in Smash started circulating, and now it's official. In a strange way, I almost feel responsible for all this. Now, am I supposed talk about this in the SNK thread, or on the Smash Bros board??? - Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE EncoreLooks like I'll get a second chance at this game. But will the NA version be censored like it was on the Wii U? Oh, and Genki Yokota's response in that interview from a couple of months ago is even funnier now... RPG Site: One last thing... are you aware of the sort of immense fan fever, the demand, for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE to come to Switch?
Yokota: Ahhh. [laughs] Well, thank you for the comment - I will go to Atlus, and perhaps we can talk about that! - Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive EditionSaved the best for last. I enjoyed the original Xenoblade when I first played it, but once I finished it, I never went back. However, after falling in love with XBC2, I've kinda wanted to revisit it. Aside from the graphical overhaul, it looks like it includes cut content. The area shown at the end of the teaser is in the data for the original game, but isn't accessible in normal gameplay. I wonder what other changes and enhancements it will have...

Interesting announcement from the Japanese Direct, Remakes of the Famicom Tantei (Detective) Club games for the Switch, developed by MAGES with cooperation from the original Nintendo staff, which I suppose includes Sakomato who appears in the reveal trailer. No info about a western release happening though. This comes about with some interesting timing as back in July someone actually asked at the Nintendo investors meeting about Famicom Detective Club seires and wondered with the current state of Nintendo would they make an adventure game like them again. www.siliconera.com/2019/07/01/nintendo-got-asked-two-cute-questions-in-the-latest-investors-meeting/
Pretty good direct, all in all. - Local multiplayer mode for LM3 looks fun. - Find it crazy that Toby Fox has met Sakurai and has now worked with Game Freak. - BK in Smash looks like a great character - Didn't even think Little Town Story would even come out so soon. - Deadly Premonition 2 is Switch exclusive - Jedi Knight on Switch! - SNES games on Switch and the SNES Switch controller (thought the controller would be happen but thought it would actually be able to attach to the rail). Anyone who own the NES ones is probably regretting wasting their money when this has more buttons and would also be compatible with NES games. - SMT:#FE didn't think it would warrant a Switch release, saleswise, though the game looks like it might be the censored western version which isn't going to help. - Hearing those opening music notes and seeing that giant waterfall again was a great opener for that XC:DE trailer, hopefully the game has some sort of character switching/co-op in battle and cut location content (like Giant's Shoulder) restored. It's incredible how far the XC series has come after all these years, going from nearly not getting a NA release, to Shulk being in Smash, the release of XCX and XC2/Torna, good to see more people will be able to a better version of XC or without having to own a Wii/Wii U or N3DS.

Great Direct, outside of some filler I can't complain.

Famicom Tantei Club, nice . I wonder if there are considerations for remakes of Shin Onigashima and Yuyuki too?

I do think a Reiwa: Shin Onigashima is on the cards, but I doubt Yuyuki barring a huge push into the Chinese market. Time Twist of course is never happening period.

OK, not really a Direct, but a presentation nonetheless.

This is very impressive! They've shown a lot of SNK love here.
I'm very pleased to see the final boss theme of the Metal Slug series making it in.

Mai is Too Hot For Smash™. That's OK. I'd take Athena and the Psycho Soldier theme any day. Also, 20 guest characters and 50 music tracks is kinda insane.

There are 17 remixed songs. Other DLC song lists don't have this many even if they combine original and remixed songs.
Really love the Metal Slug main theme remix too.
I still haven't bought the Fighter Pass, and I'm actually leaning towards no since I haven't played Smash for quite a long time (I've lost interest). But putting that aside, this is the one fighter pack I'm currently the most interested in.

I like how the English version of the Psycho Soldier theme includes the original cheesy lyrics verbatim, and also replaces the Japanese second verse with an awesome saxophone solo.
