I was thinking about Brawl's extensive list of songs. I loved that they decided to include so much great Nintendo music and definitely want them to go that route again. And since it's a new game, time for new music! What tunes do we want to hear in the next Smash Brothers? I'll start with some of the ones I want, in no particular order (It's not all the ones I want, I'll update the list when I think of more, as well as add the music you guys want): MarioGood Egg Galaxy (I see this definitely getting in) Forest Maze (I heard this was supposed to be in Brawl. I wish it was, I like this a lot.) Neo Bowser CityRainbow Road (Mario Kart 7)Mushroom CityBattlerock GalaxyBuoy Base Galaxy PokémonGym Battle (R/B/Y/FR/LG) (Why wasn't this in Brawl!?) Gym Battle (R/S/E) (In general we need more Gen III music) Deoxys Battle ThemeFind Mii/StreetPass QuestI think the music in this game is severely wasted since most people go through it sessions at a time and speed it up with the R button, which is a shame considering how good some of these things sound. Perhaps they should be used in a Fire Emblem stage? Ultimate Ghost Battle (Seeing Smash's tendency to mix in other bits of music, I'd also like to see a bit of Armored Fiend's theme mixed in) Fight On, Heroes! To Battle, Heroes!Keep Fighting, Heroes!

How about some damn Earthbound music. I know it's a minor franchise, but come on balance the choice of music a little. And don't use stuff from already released cd arrangements, that's just lazy [/entitlement]

This is not a knock against you, 8bit, or for that matter any one person, as opposed to the fan-base as a whole. I'm sorry if I offend. Why do Earthbound fans insist that a franchise with 3 games with rather poor sales merits more than what it gets when it's given roughly as much representation as Donkey Kong, a franchise which has been around since Nintendo started making video games, has always walked away with huge sales numbers at its worst, has (to my memory) 17 releases across every platform Nintendo has ever produced, and to which Nintendo owes EVERYTHING?

Because it's representation was atrocious? The amount of music and especially trophies was minimal compared to every other series of games.
(Also because we EB dorks know it's a dead franchise so anything that pops up in Smash is the only official EB related thing we'll see for a long time)

I dunno, Earthbound had 8 songs, and in beta had 4 more. DK effectively had 8 songs himself, between 3 being different versions of DK Island Swing, one being effectively a sound effect on loop (8-bit 25m,) and one being the DK Rap. I'll agree on trophies, 9 isn't much for anything, but then, like I said, 3 games.

Huh, never noticed EB had more music then DK. That remark was really just my disappointment that EB had so much music cut. Because (knowing about) cut content sucks Why should the size of a franchise matter though? I'd rather have them even it out and make some more Ice Climber or F-Zero trophies rather than a billion Mario and Pokemon trophies. On that note, did DK really need that many trophies, including 4 dopey crocodiles from that forgettable racing game? Oh damnit, rambling about goddamn trophies in a music thread, so here's two bodacious Pokemon B/W tunes that are perfect and should just be C/Ped into the next Smash.

Do you actually expect every other franchise to be on equal terms with stuff like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon? When you know that they really can't? Anyway, I've got so many tracks I could list here, but I don't have time for them all at the moment. Maybe later.

Ofcourse bigger franchises end up getting more presentation and I certainly don't expect they'll give both Mario and IC 30 trophies, but if they're going to add in so many Mario trophies (Striker Mario, Paper Mario) while things that already have been modeled ingame (Polar Bear/ Bird from IC) get shafted, I get a little irked. One trophy for the spinoff franchises like SMStrikers and DK Barrel Blast would be enough in my opinion, shit like Daisy Striker should've been sticker material [/firstworldtrophyproblems]

Remember that most of Brawl's trophies were really crappy to begin with. Not only that, but how they put them in Brawl sucked too. While Melee's trophy models were all built from the ground up, all Brawl did was take the model data directly from the other games themselves. Thus why some of them feel so limited. Find Mii/StreetPass QuestI think the music in this game is severely wasted since most people go through it sessions at a time and speed it up with the R button, which is a shame considering how good some of these things sound. I think that maybe a stage of this title could work. The Miis really are getting more and more of an identity of their own, aren't they?

Huh, never noticed EB had more music then DK. That remark was really just my disappointment that EB had so much music cut. Because (knowing about) cut content sucks. I didn't say it had more music. If you look at track count, DK has 4 more than EB (12:8). By songs, DK has 1 more than EB (9:8, medleys counted 12:11). It's that, by song, EB is on par with DK, despite the two having such a disparity in game-count and game-sales. And this is why it kinda bugs me when EB fans start saying that Earthbound is under-represented in Smash Bros. On that note, I'd like some more DK songs. Just a short list of songs I'd like... Funky's Fugue Forest Frenzy Tree Top Rock Jib Jig Primal Rave Palm Tree Groove Tidal Terror Golden Temple

I hope I don't sound like a dick/broken record, but being able to have the music (among ther things) you want in SSBB has been possible, with the only downside being that you have to replace one thing to add another (no problem in the recolors, music or even stage appartment, at least for me). I guess that's one of the wonders of hacking. Of course, it's a double edged sword: I'm not even remotely excited or interested in SSB4. Unless if it does something along the lines of a "Steam Workshop", I don't really see how the next game can do something big that'll spark my interest.
But I do like YL idea.
