According to Gamasutra, Hirokazu Yasuhara has recently joined Nintendo's NST studio in Redmond, Washington. Yasuhara was one of the co-creators of Sonic the Hedgehog, and worked as the director on all the original Genesis games. He later worked at Naughty Dog as a lead designer for the Jak and Daxter series, as well as the Uncharted series. No word on what his new position will be, but I think this is a pretty nice score for Nintendo. Maybe he can help make something out of ol' NST.

Nintendo NST eh? They seem to only work on small games, add-ons and stuff. I do love the Sonic The Hedgehog and Uncharted series though, maybe this is a sign they'll start making more, bigger projects.

Jak and Daxter was not made by humans, but gods. I have never been aware of NST's presence but you can be sure I'll be following them now.

NST (Nintendo Software Technology) is a North America-based studio, who made games like Metroid Prime Hunters and the Mario vs DK lineup. And...lots of other small, simple stuff like some DSiWare.

They also did Wave Race Blue Storm and 1080 Avalanche for the 'Cube.

Yes, NST has always picked up abandoned projects and run with them, but it's always kinda been a small "remake" studio. It'll be interesting to see what this new hire will lead to.

NST does have its own abandoned game in Project H.A.M.M.E.R. if anyone remembers that.

That was the last I heard of them until this news, to be honest. Apparently they're still on the Mario Vs. DK line and some DSiWare, eh? Well, this is a big acquisition for them, then. Maybe they will be a little busier a little more next gen.

I was really looking forward to Project H.A.M.M.E.R. as well. I assumed the Wii Remote wasn't precise enough, then I thought we might see it again when WiiMotion Plus came out (after all, it's not like NST are doing much at all!)
