So, I was reading the legendary Cloudbush thread, and came across this. The second part, not the part about the Triforce. Seems really random for a cameo, but it does seem to check out. The question, of course, becomes why?

Interesting. Maybe it's some kind of Japanese cultural reference though. For some reason, although it probably isn't true, they remind me of the Dogū. ( and some people believe the Dogū to be ancient aliens)

Huh. They match up colour-wise, too. Din = red, Nayru = blue, and Farore = ...green, but yellow's the closest match Pikmin has.

I thought it was a reference to the see no evil stuff but now I realize I'm totally off, still it does seem like more of a cultural reference than anything. Of course, I don't know anything about Japan so I can't say anything.

Given the time the game was made and the studio that made it, it does seem a likely reference to Pikmin to me. If it is a cultural thing, it's not one I've ever heard of.

Anyone know a lot about obscure Japanese culture? NocturnalYL? You own a lot of Japanese products right? Know anything about this?

You know, it's such an odd cameo I didn't even think to look. Sorry 'bout that!
And to those asking, the Farore statue actually has yellow eyes instead of green. That's what solidifies it for me.
