The Shark in Ocarina of Time: Cameo?

So, I was reading a thread on 4chan about weird, one time things in games. The OP was about the shark in the Lake Hylia lab in Ocarina of Time, when someone posted this in response:

Alright, time to put this question to rest, once and for all.

Keep in mind that I have absolutely nothing to back this up or to even demonstrate that the two are correlated. I'm just posting this based on my personal knowledge of the N64.

The shark in OoT is a shoutout to Bazz, the shark used in the very first Silicon Graphics tech demo for the "Ultra 64" SGI Indy hardware board. The video demoing Bazz can be found here.

Things to note: this video was demoed in 1994, before the N64 dev hardware was even finalized. This board, the "Ultra 64" addon board for the SGI Indy workstation, featured significantly more RAM than the N64, and less bottleneck due to lack of cartridge bus. This resulted in most of the games for N64 being developed via the Ultra 64 board to either be scaled down or scrapped altogether - EG the famous Ultra Copter 64, a realistic simulator title planned by the Pilotwings 64 developers.

This is the only thing I think it could be. The sharks sure look similar enough.

Now, I kinda doubt it. But figured I'd bring it up anyways. The fact is, it really does look really odd, since it isn't styilzed at all. Here's a pic!

But that shark was always totally random. It would make sense that they would reference a shark appearing in a tech demo with graphics that the N64 itself never achieved >_>

One of the "items" you get in the trading game is a blue cucco named "Cojiro". He is likely named after Sasaki Kojiro, a famous Japanese swordsman of the early Sengoku and Edo periods, known for his rivalry with Miyamoto Mushashi.

Another interesting thing to note is that Musashi and Cojiro were the names of Jessie and James, the infamous Team Rocket villains, in the Japanese version of Pokemon. Considering that Cojiro is a Pocket Cucco, much like how the word "Pokemon" is derived from Pocket Monsters, it is likely a very, very subtle reference.
