So, I was reading a thread on 4chan about weird, one time things in games. The OP was about the shark in the Lake Hylia lab in Ocarina of Time, when someone posted this in response: Now, I kinda doubt it. But figured I'd bring it up anyways. The fact is, it really does look really odd, since it isn't styilzed at all. Here's a pic!

Image is broken.
But that shark was always totally random. It would make sense that they would reference a shark appearing in a tech demo with graphics that the N64 itself never achieved >_>

All right, here is the page the shark picture came from. Props to Flying Omelet for bringing some great pages like this. Another cameo from that page I might as well throw here: One of the "items" you get in the trading game is a blue cucco named "Cojiro". He is likely named after Sasaki Kojiro, a famous Japanese swordsman of the early Sengoku and Edo periods, known for his rivalry with Miyamoto Mushashi. Another interesting thing to note is that Musashi and Cojiro were the names of Jessie and James, the infamous Team Rocket villains, in the Japanese version of Pokemon. Considering that Cojiro is a Pocket Cucco, much like how the word "Pokemon" is derived from Pocket Monsters, it is likely a very, very subtle reference.
