It's a rather large Nintendo IP. I was actually surprised at how little representation in got in SSBB. No character, stage, or song. Just a couple of stickers and an assist trophy.
Being Fire Emblem's older brother and a 15+ game franchise I think it warrants more representation then this.
I think it would be pretty neat to have a character playable. The playable character will most likely be a "grunt unit", Andy (Advance Wars) or Will (Advance Wars : Days Of Ruin). The grunt being a generic soldier that could use weapons and reference material from all games in the series including Gameboy Wars and Battalion Wars. Andy is the obvious poster boy for the GBA series and Will is the latest one.
Probably the hardest thing for including them would be making a moveset, but the folks at SORA/Nintendo can figure out something. If CAPCOM can do it why can't they?
A stage would be much easier to do and it would have all the wackiness that is so prevalent in this series. The weather constantly changing, HQs getting toppled for capturing, soldiers taking down heavy tanks with MGs, meteors falling from the sky, etc.
What do you think?

They didn't really integrate a lot of IPs for Brawl as much as they could've. I'll be honest, I think they missed more opportunities not representing Punch-Out!!, Balloon Fight, and Golden Sun more heavily, and not so much Nintendo Wars.
However. I can say this much. Andy would likely be the character of choice, given how he seems to be kinda main to the series as a whole. The only thing I can think is how he'd fight. I mean, they didn't let Snake use his SOCOM, so what that tells me is that realistic, bullet-shooting guns are a no. And if that's the case...

I would be personally delighted if Sakurai had added an "Nintendo Wars" character in a Smash game - especially if Andy stayed in the background like Pokemon Trainer and he was commanding issues to a pair of Infantry soldiers who fight together as a team like the Ice Climbers. I think it fits because Andy is the Commanding Officer but he never fought directly but indirectly through his Infantry soldiers. I had been playing Super C and Contra III on the Virtual Console (why the original Contra isn't there is beyond me but anyway...) and I think the Infantry soldiers could be like Bill Rizer and Lance Bean. The Infantry soldiers could fight by using their guns as melee weapons much like in FPS games.
B: Machine Gun Hold down the B Button and the two Infantry soldiers start shooting much like Ivysaur's Bullet Seed. The difference is, the "Popo" Infantry shoots straight ahead and the "Nana" Infantry shoots overhead in a 45 degree angle.
Side B: Bomber An Air Unit called a "Bomber" flies overhead and carpet-bombs everything in front of the Infantry soldiers.
Up B: Transport Helicopter An Air Unit called "Transport Helicopter" flies overhead and drops a ladder. The "Popo" Infantry grabs the ladder and is carried to safety. The vertical recovery is rather poor but the horizontal recovery is very good. Like in the games, the Transport Helicopter can only carry one Infantry at a time... so you are likely to lose the "Nana" Infantry while using this special.
Down B: APC Use this special if you lose the "Nana" Infantry. A Land Unit called Armored Personnel Carrier (or "APC" for short) will appear in the background and another "Nana" Infantry joins the "Popo" Infantry. This special has to be performed when the "Popo" Infantry is grounded - much like how a Pokemon has to be grounded before the Pokemon Trainer switches Pokemon.
Final Smash: Tank Andy is in his Tank issuing commands from the background. The Final Smash calls for Andy to start shooting the stage with his Tank. You control the crosshairs to guide where Andy's Tank will shoot.
Palette swaps are so easy. Just give them uniforms based on Orange Star, Blue Moon, Green Earth, Yellow Comet, and Black Hole with camouflage pattern.

I mean, they didn't let Snake use his SOCOM, so what that tells me is that realistic, bullet-shooting guns are a no. And if that's the case... This certainly sounds like a good reason for the lack of it. The question, what about having a Nintendo Wars stage? Like Smashchu's Choatic Seas idea?Originally had an idea about a grassey field with two armies fighting one anothers and Smash fighters in between it all, advoiding rockets/shell, fighting in craters caused by previous explosions, jumping over incoming vehicles, have a tank appear that can have a turret and can be knocked around 180 degrees, and can end up firing a shell at close range at other players, but I thought the idea might be too generic . . . So how about a stage set inside a factory with a mechanical production line ( slow moving conveyer belt/s, robot arms, metal presses) that build the war vehicles, and having a game of Smash on the automated production line. Other hazards could include knocking players into explosive crates which can contain either the following: - Tank shells, cause a small explosion - Missles, which shoot out and chotically fly (looping) through the air, (players do not want to be in the air when this happens to avoid getting hit) misslies do not land on the ground and just fly off the stage boundary after a few seconds - Rockets, go straight up and go plummting into the ground.

Sakurai specifically stated realistic guns would be a no no. And even then they had to change his landmines into those cartoonish devices with a goofy orange button on top.
I know somebody here once had the idea of having a playable Andy run around with a some sorta regenerating money meter which he could use to deploy little infantry units. I found that to be a pretty neat idea, but the downside is that it makes the character look like some sorta clockwork toymaker instead
I'd rather have no AW character than a bunch of generic grunt soldiers stinking up the character slots tho

I'd just be happy with an Advance Wars stage. Make it a scrolling stage, like a crazier version of the tank levels in Super Mario Bros. 3

Remove solid snake and give Sami his moveset = PROBLEM SOLVED!
but really I had an idea of the 3 original CO form Advance Wars (Sami, Andy and Max) ridding a small thank like in the covers.
B= Machine guns, shots a quick barrage of bullets, but like Fox blasters does damage without knockback.
Side B= Fire a bullet shell from the main cannon.
Up B =Rocket bust propels the tank upward, shots fire from bellow
Down B= CO change, switches the leading Co, this doesn't affect the moveset but the stats of the Tank (MAX=More power but less speed, SAMI= Your long distance attacks do more damage, but you became weaker to close combat attacks, ANDY= Standar stats, in the middle of the other two)
Final Smash= CO POWER, they actually got 3, depending on who was your leading CO when you got the Ball. ANDY= Full heal, get 150hp back SAMI= Speed Bost, All your opponents move at 1/3 speed for a while MAX= Bombing, A bomber comes flying and bombards the playing area.

I agree with kicking out Snake and giving Sami a modified moveset.

A lot of people say that, but Snake's moveset is mostly based on the items he could use since the MSX days. Give them to a Nintendo Wars commanding officer instead and you'd just have a Nintendo character throwing 'nades just because the franchise happens to have a military theme. Pretty lame.

I'm more of supporting Arcadenik's idea of a CO staying in background. That's what COs do - giving command to the ones that do the actual job. But at the same time, generic soldier squads or tanks don't seem to belong to the "playable" class, where most reps are "actual," named characters.
So maybe a playable-in-the-field CO who can summon units would work the best.
I highly doubt if DoR references will materialize in form of a playable character. That game is overseas only.

By complete accident, I discovered what could work as Up Special move for a Nintendo Wars character... check out at 3:15 and then fast forward to 6:05. I think it would be great for my Commanding Officer idea with the Infantry soldiers.

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3vYtUlkCUU Not a bad idea seems like it could work in Smash, it just looks kinda funny (seeing it in SFW) though. Transport Choppa! Fly really close to the ground, there's no time for me to jump inside, so I'll just hang on to the bottom and hope I don't let go!The intro sequence though had that massive tank that fires the giant round artillery shells that roll along the ground (and is than kicked back by a blu soilder) anyone else think that would that make a good B or B side attack?

Being honest, the a stage will be enough to represent the Wars series, but I just love Sami to much, I want her in the game.

Okay, I came up with a few more ideas from observing the animations in two videos.
From the above video... Aerial Down+A move at 2:00. It could work as a Meteor Smash like Ness's or R.O.B.'s. Of course Side+B could be seen at 0:10.
Yes, the same video from my previous post. Like I said before, Up+B starts at 3:15 and ends at 6:05. But there's more! Look at 0:50 for a possible Side+A move (the kick). The neutral B special I mentioned before, it kinda resembles 6:55. I was thinking that it could be like Ivysaur's neutral B special (but with machine guns). Oh, and I was thinking of changing the Down+B special to resemble what you see in 4:30... with the Infantry soldiers getting on a tank and start shooting around like you see in the beginning of the video. I guess the Final Smash could be the giant tank you see in the beginning of the video.
