It has been announced that the following online Wii Channels will be shut down on June 28th 2013.
- Nintendo Channel - News Channel - Forecast Channel - Everybody Votes Channel - Mii Contest Channel - Data exchange with Wii Friends via WiiConnect24*
* Exchange of Wii messages on the Wii Message Board, exchange of Mii characters on the Mii Channel and message/data exchange within some games will be disabled.
The above services will no longer be available even if they are started up from the Wii Menu.
Good news though as the Wii Shop Channel and “Today’s Accomplishments” on the Wii Message Board, will remain available.
If there's any pictures/video/music or Nintendo cameo evidence (unlikely though, we would have found it by now) that you are willing to record from the soon to discontinued channels, you may want to do it soon.
I'll admit I used some of these features back in the day of getting my Wii online (Forecast, News, EV, Mii Contest Channel), and I still look at the Nintendo Channel fortnightly, though I disaponnted by my regions lack of new (and timed 3rd party) DS downloadable games.

Glad the Wii Shop will stay online. That kinda scared me for a moment.
The rest of it is no big deal for me, although I do like seeing my playing stats on the Nintendo Channel.

The only things that got my attention were Check Mii Out and Nintendo Channel. I stopped using Check Mii Out since people posted penis-faced Miis there, and I mainly used Nintendo Channel for downloading those DS Download Play demos.
I won't really miss them when they're gone. As long as Nintendo WFC proper is still there, I have no complaints. I don't even miss Wii Shop, since it's just a shovelware library to me and the only WiiWare I liked was Excitebike. There's VC too, but with worse-than-emulator emulation, they just don't worth 500~1000 points each.
