Remember last year when I drew loads of Namco, Konami and Sega characters? Well I'm hoping to relaunch the Nintendo All-Stars section again soon... So it's time for another poll!
The rules: 1. Pick your Top 10 Nintendo characters. The order doesn't matter. All characters receive 1 vote. 2. If the game isn't named after them, make sure to include the name of the game/series as well. 3. You may only pick ONE character per series in your list. (For now)
This will be an ongoing project, so depending on how the voting goes, I may mix it up with extra polls (e.g. Top 5 Mario Characters or Top 10 DS Characters).
I will add all characters voted for to a chart, like before... Only this time using the magic of Google Docs! Click here to view it so far (I shall update this as I go).

Smash hype is slowly getting to you too I see
Before I F5'd the thread my list contained Mario, Kirby and Ness because the majority of these franchises' games (+ FE & PKMN) is why I still stick around with Nintendo. But since you're going with the Smash cast anyway... obscure vote spam is go! - Red [Pokemon R/B/Y](and not his FR/LG redesign if I can be picky) - Chrom [Fire Emblem](his DLC conversations are just too great) - Muddy Mole [Mole Mania] - Popo (..& Nana?) [Ice Climbers] - Takamaru [Nazo no Murasame Jō] - Tamagon [Devil World] - Bubbles [Clu Clu Land] - Donbe [Shin Onigashima] - Prince of Sablé [For The Frog The Bells Tolls] - Peter Parrot Mike Jones [Star Tropics]
1: Mach Rider 2: Tamagon (Devil World) 3: Kumatora (Mother 3) 4: Takamaru (Murasame) 5: Mike Jones (StarTropics) 6: The Fabulous Frog Choir (Ocarina of Time) 7: The Amazon (Pro Wrestling) 8: Ice Climbers 9: The Headless Snowman (Mario 64) 10: ROB the Robot
I'll admit, I didn't pick my top 10, per se, so much as some that I just want to see you draw. I can at least BS a reason for the snowman, though- Nintendo Power's best April Fool's Day joke centered on him.
I am so glad this is coming back. Was a wonderful part of the early site.
1: Mach Rider 2: Anthony Higgs (Metroid) 3: Hardin (Fire Emblem series) 4: Takamaru (Murasame) 5: Sky Skipper (I remember when he was on the earlier All Star reboot) 6: Kyle Hyde (Hotel Dusk) 7: Prince Sable (For the Frog a Bell Tolls) 8: Shulk (Xenoblade) 9: Donbe (Shin Onigashima) 10: ROB the Robot
Nester the Lark: I'd like to be playing Fire Emblem Engage, but it wasn't delivered when it was supposed to be, and the shipment tracking hasn't been updated, so I have no idea what happened to it.

Nester the Lark: Times like this make me wonder if Sakurai had the right idea, and buying games digitally is the way to go.
Jan 21, 2023 18:23:18 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Digital is usually more expensive and Switch only supports up to 2TB storage (about 140 to 200 games), but if you want to play games as soon as possible, it's the way to go.
Jan 22, 2023 1:48:00 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: I don't know when will I be getting it. I'm still interested, but it's no longer the "pre-order, premium version" kind of interested. These days I order games in bulks, so maybe I'll wait.
Jan 22, 2023 1:49:34 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Finally, an update. It's marked as "out for delivery" again. Fingers crossed.
Jan 23, 2023 12:58:22 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: About the prices of digital games, I often find that when they go on sale, it's usually for very cheap prices. Except for first-party Nintendo games, which rarely go on sale, and not usually for that big of a discount.
Jan 23, 2023 13:01:40 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: But then, first-party Nintendo games usually hold their value for a long time even physically.
Jan 23, 2023 13:02:21 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Welp, that's 0 for 2 on the delivery.
Jan 23, 2023 23:11:36 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: And it's out for delivery again. Third time's the charm?
Jan 26, 2023 12:54:55 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: And that's 0 for 3 on the delivery.
Jan 27, 2023 9:49:06 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: So, the delivery company gave up and sent the game back to the retailer. My order is being cancelled and money refunded.
Jan 27, 2023 20:41:21 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: I've been in contact with a customer service rep from the retailer all week, and they didn't understand why the package wasn't being delivered, either. But they're sending me a $30 gift card for the trouble, so that takes the sting out of it.
Jan 27, 2023 20:43:16 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Still considering the digital option at this point.
Jan 27, 2023 20:53:05 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Went back to my Wii U and downloaded updates / free DLC for games I don't have, in case I want to buy those.
Jan 30, 2023 7:22:29 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Wii U having only 32GB of storage isn't helpful at all. 3DS and Switch are expandable via SD cards, while Wii U only supports USB hard disks. It made sense in 2012, but with SD cards going up to 2TB now, not supporting that sounds silly now.
Jan 30, 2023 7:27:19 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: What started off as me checking what can I do with the Wii U ended up with me just having fun with the system. Also relieved that it still works perfectly fine after 2 years of disuse. Except the Wii U GamePad vibration motor, which now makes weird noises.
Jan 30, 2023 12:43:42 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: I actually planned to use a mod to dump my games and save data, so that in case anything happens to it I can move on to emulation (since, unlike Switch, there's no save data backup service). I haven't started doing that, though.
Jan 30, 2023 12:45:00 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Haha, yeah, still have it hooked up and use it occasionally. Was playing some Fatal Frame 5 recently in anticipation of Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.
Feb 4, 2023 9:42:21 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Sometimes, I wonder if Nintendo deliberately leaks things like Tears of the Kingdom's price increase so that the "shock" and backlash doesn't overshadow the proper reveal of the game later.
