Oh my gosh. This is what makes David Wise's music with the DKC series so iconic. You can listen to this on its own, and you wouldn't associate it with Donkey Kong. And yet, that's part of what makes it so memorable. I mentioned elsewhere that Wise's music adds unexpected emotion to the games its in, and this is a prime example of that. It reminds me a bit of his score for Star Fox Adventures, but better.

Pardon the bump, but do any of you know where I might find the official wallpapers that were on the promo site? I've got the ones for Diddy, Dixie and Cranky, but I'm missing Donkey. I wanted to go back and get it, but everything is gone. I guess that means they were only available for a limited time, but that seems really strange. I have a hard time believing that they would just disappear from the internet completely, but I can't find them anywhere. Not on fan sites, wikis, photobucket, deviantart, etc. Somebody must have them.

I can't find them now, but wih the help of some sort of time machine (Internet Archive Wayback Machine) and my browser's element inspection capability, it appears that there's no Donkey Kong wallpaper to begin with. The whole character voting/wallpaper download thing is for the other three Kongs only.

That thought had actually occurred to me, but I could've sworn I remembered a DK wallpaper. Oh well, that would explain why I didn't get it back then. Thanks for checking that out, YL!

But I still want a DK wallpaper.  Strange that they'd have them for the other characters, but not DK.  Maybe I'll make my own.
