According to Eurogamer, Next Level Games, the developer of Super Mario Strikers, Punch-out!! Wii and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, has announced that they intend to work exclusively with Nintendo for the foreseeable future. Nintendo does not own any stake in Next Level (as far as anyone knows), but their partnership seems to be going very well. Plus, the non-Nintendo games Next Level has released have not been so successful, so it's a logical decision for the company. I think this is good news. Nintendo has to do so much of the heavy lifting for their own systems that they need all the help they can get.

I had a feeling this was the case ever since I learned that they had developed Wii U Chat with Nintendo. NLG is really talented studio, and with Nintendo's guidance they make incredible stuff. I hope a new Puch-Out is in the cards.

This, this is very good to hear. First they got Mario sports spin off, then Punch Out, then lastly Luigi's Mansion, now what could be considered "better" than that?

F-Zero, perhaps?
If it was Star Fox, I imagine Nintendo would want Dylan Cuthbert's Q-Games involved. And if Retro goes back to working on Metroid, then Donkey Kong Country would possibly go to Monster Games who ported DKCR to the 3DS and is assisting with Tropical Freeze. That leaves F-Zero. Or possibly a revival of Wave Race or 1080.[/baseless speculation]
