So here's the first official trailer for that Pokémon/Tekken game we've known about for ages.
Hopefully it's not only an arcade game, or I guess I'll never see it. And it looks cool.

There were two brands registered at the time, the other one being Pokkén Fighters. The hope is that the latter refers to a home console release.

Hopefully. It would be strange to release an English trailer for this if it is arcade only, given how arcades aren't so much of a thing outside of Japan any more.

I'd also really like to play this on a home console. I've never even played the Mario Kart arcade game...oh wait, there's two of 'em now.

Speaking from experience, those three Mario Karts are pretty much arcade games by design. They're hella lame when you play them on a home machine.

Namco fighters generally debut as arcade games, then an expanded version is released for home consoles down the line.

Oh man, this actually turns out to be Pokemon Tekken huh.
Can't wait for the return of Gon in Charmander form.

I think you guys already knew this but just didn't discuss it at good old NinDB Forums. Anyway, Gardevoir, Pikachu and SUICUNE (Amaterasu-like) have been confirmed as playable characters. There are two stages: a field and a volcano, not counting the street from the 2013 demo. Some other Pokémon appear as supports, and several others as cameos on the different stages. Official site: pokkentournament.jp/Still no confirmation for the Western or even Wii U, but that still might be what "Pokkén Fighters" is reserved for.

Suicune and Pikachu's body proportions feel weird. It's like that pic can go straight to the Freakachu thread.

Jeez. Will there ever be a Pokemon game that doesn't have Pikachu play a huge role?

Jeez. Will there ever be a Pokemon game that doesn't have Pikachu play a huge role? When Meowth is a playable character in a fighting game... in a word, never.

Yes, how dare the mascot of a series continue being its mascot?

Yes, how dare the mascot of a series continue being its mascot? In fairness, Tekken and Pikachu are an odd match. But then, I would make the same statement for Tekken and Pokemon in general, so what the hell do I know? Unrelated, it seems Nintendo's doing a lot of franchise - takeovers? crossovers? - lately. Pokkén Tournament, Hyrule Warriors, Pokémon Conquest...I dunno, does anyone know what's up with this?

They probably got tired of making Mario everything.
