.....So one game's DLC is a more sensible reason to get a Wii U than two really great games? ....logic? In my case, I was interested in 3D World and Tropical Freeze too. But those didn't give me enough push to get a new system. I needed a third game, however small it is, to motivate me to get it. And it really happened. That third game is a trigger point for me to get a Wii U, not the sole reason. Of course, I can't speak for jigglysama. That's just me. Maybe he just really likes the idea of Mario Kart with Zelda and Animal Crossing elements. |

New Super Mario Bros. U is actually really good too.

If the Yoshis and Shy Guy alternate colors can be chosen like that, why can't it be the same for Mario, Peach, and the others? And what's the point of purchasing them now when they won't be usable until their release? Bragging rights/minor advertising possibly? "Hey, I'm racing around online with my black Yoshi and Green Shyguy and you aren't!""There is a really large amount of of people driving around with the new Yoshi/Shyguy colours, maybe I should the purchase the DLC bundle too?With the Tanooki suit Mario /Cat suit Peach, they might have new animations created for them. But if you mean alt colours (like Yoshi/Shyguy) for the rest, uh . . . Something something canon? . . . Unless you start referencing stuff the like the fire flower suit/other powerup colours, etc. And that would only work with a small amount (Eg SM3DW power up designs) and than you have to start designing costumes for all the other characters, that might not use those alts ever again outside of MK. At the end of the day, it just might be lazyness or waiting to see how many people even use the Yoshi/Shyguy alts. |

Well, my first reason to not get a Wii U yet is because is hella expensive in my country (almost twice the value than the US price!). Also no games gained my attention this far...
I have heard how hard was the Wii Donkey Kong Country Returns (which I never played yet, and probably never will), so I was intimidated with Tropical Freeze being similar or evern harder. So I am avoiding both games like the plague.
Mario 3D seems fun, though, but getting the system just for that game would not had been a good move, and I was already busy with 3DS games (which are way cheaper and easier to get).
And well, Mario Kart 8 wasn't interesting to me at first, neither... But now they are breaking the tradition with all these DLC goodness, which greatly breaks the mold of recent Mario Kart games with more tracks and stuff. So uh, I dunno, is just my thing. Sorry for sharing my stupid reasons...

To be honest a lot of Nintendo's WiiU games initially didn't pull me over either, though DKTF's soundtrack hype eventually got to me (and if that didn't the MK8 free game deal probably would). Still haven't bought Wonderful 101, Mario 3D World or Sonic Lost World yet though. I wanna play 'em eventually, but... not at that price. Anyway, advertisements for this DLC is spread all over MK8 now: a fancy new SHOP menu button at the bottom of the main menu and locked icons of the DLC character and courses in their respective selection menus... which is pretty damn cruel considering the second pack won't come out for another eight more months. Pretty solid marketing-wise as anybody playing MK8 will be aware of it now, but man is it obnoxious. Atleast the big red exclamation mark at the shop button is gone now I pre-ordered the packs  |

Sorry for sharing my stupid reasons... Not stupid. Mario Kart 8 never interested me because the character choices were so lame. These new ones spark my interest too. I also don't really care about Donkey Kong or Pikmin since the previous games didn't pull me in. I played Mario 3D World at a friends house, it would probably be more fun with friends, but one or two of my friends give a shit about Nintendo, and by only a small margin. |

The only thing that'll really piss you off are the rocket-barrel levels, and even then they're doable. |

Tropical Freeze definitely made the game more fair compared to Returns.
But what am I saying? This is NinDB, we never actually play games.

I'm hyped for Mario Kart 8 DLC. I can't wait to see what are the new race tracks... though I would have liked proper battle arenas like Block Fort and Double Deck from Mario Kart 64 and Luigi's Mansion and Pipe Plaza from Double Dash... and of course, Toad and Koopa Troopa recolors...
