Yoshi's Circuit...yay?
After watching a video of the old track, I'm left wondering some things. Are they going to leave in the Birdo poster? Are they gonna show the giant Yoshi design at the start of the track? Are they gonna have the Yoshi copter?
I didn't see any of this in the trailer. It just looked...kind of dull.

Oh my god... yes!!! Yoshi Circuit from Double Dash is one of my favorite courses of all time!! I didn't expect this because I thought that retro courses are used only once and never again... and that course was in Mario Kart DS. Regardless I'm excited about this.
Now I'm hoping that Shy Guy Beach or Ribbon Road from Super Circuit are DLC... my reason? Yoshi recolors = a Yoshi themed course... Shy Guy recolors = a Shy Guy themed course

Ooh, that's cool actually. Yoshi Circuit was one of my favourite courses from Double Dash, and it's nice to hear a remix of the DD circuit theme. I keep feeling slightly disappointed when I find out about old stages returning, but this game is doing a pretty good job of adding enough to the scenery to make them blend in with the new ones. That new village by the starting line is sweet. It hadn't occurred to me before, but I guess this DLC is gonna be half new courses and half retro ones? Seems obvious now. I'd rather see the new ones, though. I'm assuming races are gonna start with that shot from above at the beginning of the trailer. You can briefly see the Yoshi copter during one of the shots of Tanooki Mario, but I only saw it because I was looking for it. It doesn't look as close to the course as it used to be. Birdo poster is probably gone though. I didn't remember where it was, so I just watched a video of the old version too.. Seeing that after watching this trailer just killed my perception of how detailed the graphics back then were. EDIT: Does this mean we know what the four cars in the first DLC are now? Blue Falcon, B Dasher, Link's horse bike and this Tanooki car?

Captain Falcon really let himself go after being unemployed for so long.

Perhaps its the new track smell, but I think the new tracks are actually better designed than the ones on the vanilla game. Dragon Driftway, Mute City, Hyrule Circuit, and Excite Arena are all excellent tracks.

I love that Dragon Driftway has that boss from Galaxy 2 in it (Gobblegut?). The little nods in Mario Kart help make it, you know?

I really like Mute City. It's definitely my favorite out of all the new tracks. Excitebike is fun too. Both left me on the edge of my seat. Dragon Driftway...it's alright. I don't get all the fuss about it. I feel like Hyrule Circuit is missing something that would really make it feel like Zelda. The references it does have are nice! Replacing the Piranha Plants with Deku Babas and coins with rupees is totally unexpected, but it just feels like a generic castle to me. It's the Mario Circuit of Zelda tracks. Hopefully we see more down the line.

Ice Ice course was actually pretty boring. I can't believe you didn't go underwater at all.

I'm very happy with the DLC courses but my OCD is kicking in...!
Triforce Cup only has one Zelda course? One would think that it has four Zelda courses... Hyrule Circuit, Lost Woods (Yoshi Valley style), Death Mountain, and Lake Hylia. That said, I like Hyrule Circuit... it was pretty fun. I like the Zelda style puzzle where you need to hit three crystal switches to make a speed ramp appear.
I also wish that they made a Nintendo Cup that featured Excitebike Arena, Mute City, an Animal Crossing course... and maybe a Pikmin course. That would be cool. I did enjoy the Excitebike and F-Zero courses even though I'm not a fan of either franchise. I did appreciate the aesthetics and the course designs.
Egg Cup, I wish, would include retro courses like GCN Yoshi Circuit, Wii Wario's Gold Mine, SNES Rainbow Road, and a fourth retro course.
Super Bell Cup, I also wish, would include new courses like Dragon Driftway, Ice Ice Outpost, and two more courses. Dragon Driftway is fantastic! I really love the Chinese theme and the course layout with lots of curves. Ice Ice Outpost is pretty cool... I like how the yellow and green paths constantly cross over and under each other.
Oh, I also got three stars in both DLC cups in 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and Mirror... it took me a few hours to get it done. Good times! I can't wait for the second DLC pack to come in Spring 2015!!!

I like the idea of a "Nintendo Cup". Those courses could have been organized well there.
