For those being super jealous of Japan getting a Smash demo, fret not! The Smash demo will hit the Western Eshop on september 19th! If you're a Platinum member among other things however, you can get 4 download codes for the demo RIGHT NOW! And even though Europe doesn't have any of these Platinum member shenanigans, same stuff applies to EU members too. Apparently. Well I guess I checked out because I got an e-mail with codes a bunch of minutes ago. If any of you EU folks want a code, I still got one left. Just PM me.

I read it's just for select Platinum members?
I haven't received it, and I'm Platinum, with a US address, too. People are being so crazy for these codes, I attempted to use one from a public post in a Facebook group, only to find out that I was beaten to it by a matter of seconds.

Well I know I haven't been posting often, but I have 2 extra codes for whatever they're worth. Not many of my friends have 3DS' so I'm willing to entertain. The dumb thing is the demo isn't online it's local only, you can only play as Mario, Link, Pikachu, Mega Man and The Villager, and the only stage is Final Destination, but you can see all the other characters and stages. I will say this though a lot of the new items are really fun if you're not one of those "no item" purists, and the new assist trophies are cool too. The CPUs seem kind of easy to me, I've been fighting 2 level 9s all day without much trouble. Other than that I can't say much aside from the fact that it's really cool and a ton of fun.

There was apparently multiple requirements to be selected. You had to reached Platinum status between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014, have registered 3DS hardware or software, and opted in to receive emails from Club Nintendo.

The only stage is battlefield, but yeah it's a neat way of getting the feel for the game and figuring out Villager and Megaman early (Megaman vs Link is a bad matchup btw, that friggen' Hyrulian shield blocks all of Megaman's bullets, including forward smash. I end up spamming downward smash instead..) Also the controls on the 3DS are confusing when used to NGC-controls. Mapping the B-moves to the Y-button and A-moves to the B-button would feel a lot more natural, but you can't change the controls in the demo. Supposedly you can in the full version atleast.
