Since I'm having a hard time finding new video game Christmas music (that isn't an Ice World theme) and since BitF is over, I decided instead on a Nintendo picture and a regular Christmas song. Sorry to break tradition but it was bound to be "short"-lived anyways. Pro tip for those who don't know, wassailing is basically somewhere between caroling and trick-or-treating. Basically, the tradition has you go around singing songs, and in return you would be given something to drink. And you may notice Archuleta mention "We are not daily beggars." This lyric comes from the charitable side of the tradition: People doing this would sometimes use it as an opportunity to ask for donations to the poor. Before I finish this post, I'd like to take this opportunity to inform any new members (and for that matter, remind the veterans) what this thread is about. Every year, typically Thanksgiving weekend (the weekend following the fourth Thursday of November, for further information), I post a thread dedicated to celebrating the holidays. You can post pictures, videos, music, whatever, as long as it's related to the holidays. Merry Christmas, NinDB!

SNK Playmore occasionally posts some really cool holiday artwork on their twitter. Here are the two Christmas-themed ones they posted last year: And here's a Thanksgiving one they posted yesterday:

SNK still has an overseas division!? I haven't heard much from them lately (and I guess Metal Slug is kind of dead with every game system going full 3D)...

SNKP seems to focus mainly on mobile gaming these days. The most recent Metal Slug game was some mobile tower defense game that came out earlier this year.

Here's the song "Dreams Dreams" from the game Christmas Nights. I remember it also being used in the Christmas DLC for the original Sonic Adventure. (Man, Dreamcast games had on-disc DLC way back in 1999. That console really was ahead of it's time! ) It was performed by Marlon Saunders, who I believe also sang on "We Are Burning Rangers" from Burning Rangers and the Knuckles raps from Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Oh, and he was also the Jamaican guy who sang " That's How You Know" with Amy Adams in the movie Enchanted.

OC Remix has posted a new holiday remix: "The Icy Journey Through Hope and Sorrow," based on the "Theme of Merlina" from Sonic and the Black Knight.

So, how was everyone's Christmas?
Mine was not particularly Nintendo-ful, which surprises me because I've somehow developed a reputation in my family as a Mario fanboy. Not sure how that happened, but okay. I did get Donkey Kong Jenga, which seems fun since it adds in new rules. Otherwise, and this list is not exhaustive, I got a pea coat, some Legos (a mini-set each from Lego Movie and Ninjago), some clothes, some books, and a scarf.

My family isn't into giving gifts. We did throw a party, though, and I got to play my newly-bought copy of Smash with my cousins. There was this one guy who'd only play Smash when he's with me (and therefore much less experienced), and yet he managed to beat me in all of Melee, Brawl and Wii U. I guess I'm just particularly bad...

Nothing really special for me. Family couldn't visit due to bad weather and illness.
I got Smash Wii U and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse.
I think I'm a little underwhelmed by Smash. I expected it to be more of the same, but I didn't realize how much was being rehashed from previous games. I'm sure I'll still play it a ton, but it doesn't feel as epic as when I first played Brawl.
Pirate's Curse is my first Shantae game, and it's pretty good so far.

My family isn't doing so hot when it comes to expenses, which is why I was super surprised when I received a $200 check. That's it, though. Nothing fancy. They vowed to never buy me a video game for Christmas or birthdays since 2005 or so.
