In the Iwata Asks for Xenoblade (3DS one I think) they said that the Wii game really bucked the trend for poor performing JRPG's in North America (thank you very much Glory of Heracles) so I think NoA was probably all in from the start for this game.
I'll take Smash Bros increasing the visability of Xenoblade. I was on board with the game way back in 2009 when it was shown off as Monado: Beginning of the World, so I'll take any latecomers.

MEANWHILE IN EUROPE . . . . . . Special editions! BUT THAT"S NOT ALL! (for Europe) The original Xenoblade Chronicles is available to download on the Wii U eShop right now! Those who purchase will receive a small discount on the eShop version XCX. (Does anyone ever take advantage of the eShop offers of "buy this new game get some other game free/discounted?" because it always seems better to stick with retail). Source.

Wow, Xenoblade on the WiiU eShop? I wonder if America will eventually get that. It would probably undermine the New 3DS port pretty badly.
America will be getting a Special Edition announcement tomorrow.

Apparently, NoA's localization will include both American and British voice actors! ( Source)

That NA special edition was finally confirmed during PAX: a 100 + page art book, a matte art card, a flash drive modeled after a key item in the game preinstalled with ten music tracks from the game, and a special box are included for $89.99. Amazon sold out already from what I've heard. Hopefully by the time I have some spare cash there will be some available for the standard going rate (hell no to scalpers)!

So, the world of Xenoblade Chronicles X is pretty big: Not that the size of a game's world automatically equates to it being good, but I was pretty impressed by the size of the first game. Quite frankly, I'm a little surprised I actually finished the first game. It was a monster. And this one is several times bigger!

is series. But as soon as Shulk is playable, then all of a sudden it's the greatest thing ever? This comment may be old but I feel like the same can be said about Bayonetta game/being in Smash. Everyone who didn't buy Bayonetta suddenly wanted the game after she was announced. And then when it was revealed that NoA was going to sell more copies of Bayonetta 2, people got angry they didn't include the original with it.
Got this for Christmas and finally completed Chapter 12 last night after a 152 hours. Still having completed everything or tried any of the online multiplayer stuff but this game is truly massive in size and scope. I think they may have added too much to it. I wonder how many players will even see it all? World size is pretty impressive as well as the different continents. I thought Sylvalum was the most original though. A strange region that looks cold but turns out to be a (white) desert regions with strange spherical trees and those massive flattened rib like structures around the borders of the continent. Funnily enough though it turns out to be my least explored region in percentage. Found gathering items and finding certain enemies that drop said items to be annoying though, it just becomes easier to consult the Xenoblade wiki instead of running around randomly. The Blade Report I thought would help but just ends up filled with memes. The Reward Ticket feature is a nice way to get these items faster if you have enough of them. There a ridiculous large amount of party members, scattered around NLA (but 4 of those are from included DLC). Though you have to use Elma and Lin most of the time. I'll probably play more in the future, but I need to have a break from playing it and try to get through more of my backlog.
