The game is apparently scheduled for April in Japan, but only 2015 in North America, so I assume the release will depend on localization time. I was hoping to hear the characters in English this time, but the trailer is still in Japanese with subtitles. Got my fingers crossed for another NoE localization, but NoA will probably handle it this time. I love the original Xenoblade, even if it was a little too big. (I still finished it at 135+ hours.) Really looking forward to X, but at about five-times(?) the size... I don't know if I can handle that much Xenoblade! On a side note, I was a little surprised that Monster Games is doing the N3DS version of the original Xenoblade, but I guess it makes sense. I wonder if 3DS ports is what Nintendo will use Monster Games for from now on.

xenobladex.jp/news/20150206/index.htmlOn 26 February at 22:00 (UTC+9), there will be a new trailer showcasing the exploration of the wide game world. Interestingly, they also stated that this game is rated C (15+) by CERO. Other examples of CERO:C include Fatal Frame and Monster Hunter (according to Niconico). Maybe Xenoblade X will contain animated blood?

I wonder if the developers of this game are constantly being asked, "Is Shulk in it?"

Finally, here's a preview of the English voice acting:
Aw, no British accents.

They do live in New Los Angeles, British VA would be odd at best.

Well, they could at least get Adam Howden to come in and scream " FIORAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" five or six times.

Let him voice an alien, Hollywood has taught me that non-Americans always have British accents.

Come to think of it, if Shulk wasn't in Smash, would they have made this big a deal out of this and Xenoblade 3D?
Better yet, would NoA have even had any beforehand plans to localize both at all?

Xenoblade Chronicles X was confirmed for North America and Europe before Shulk was revealed for Smash, so I don't think it had any influence.
But I think all of that happened because the original Xenoblade ended up being better received than NoA expected, and they're banking on it having long-term appeal.

The success of Xenoblade was absolutely a factor, but I think the success of Awakening also played a role. Those two games really showed NoA that there are still gamers who want quality games that aren't just Mario/Zelda. Especially after how games like Glory of Heracles and Golden Sun 3 were relatively poorly received (justified in Heracles' case).

They do live in New Los Angeles, British VA would be odd at best. Wasn't the whole reason Xenoblade Chronicles had British VA's because there were initially no plans to release it in NA?

That is true.

It's kind of a wonder that NOA actually had plans to localize X, then. Releasing the original game here still feels like a late afterthought.
I still find it amusing, though. Before this Smash, not many people cared that much about this series. But as soon as Shulk is playable, then all of a sudden it's the greatest thing ever?
