I guess if there is no thread for this yet, it's because there are way too many in-series cameos and references and the Pokémon world has become so integrated, characters from other regions appearing in the current one has become natural. For example, what about this one?
I'll start with the first thing that a player can encounter: a device used by your character to talk to Prof. Birch at the beginning of the game. This is obviously a homage to GBA graphics... Can we say it's a screen playing Ruby & Sapphire in a way?
Very soon after, there is the obligatory current home system cameo:
This might be a reference to the dual screen G&W series, based on the fact that the Pokémon games usually acknowledge that you own the current portable.
