Hello! I just joined the forums and i was hoping to get some help with a personal project of mine.
I have been a massive fan of Nintendo since 1995 where i use to play the snes with my mother and brother. Nintendo has stuck with me through all my life, i own every console apart from the virtual boy, and i have a particular fascination with the more obscure parts of Nintendo.
I am also a final year student of History and as a growing historian i thought it might be a good idea to get some practice by making a series of videos or documents that go over the history of Nintendo's various franchises from Donkey Kong to Dillon, Shin onigashima to Nintendoji and Duck Hunt to Splatoon. As a historian i have been trained not to take the words of wikipedia at face value however it did lead me to this incredibly useful website and forum where i can see a lot of other like-minded and passionate Nintendo fans.
So what i am asking is help on finding the sources. These can be interviews from recent or long-ago, Q&As, development documents, etc. Stuff about Nintendo is much harder to find than works on ancient greece or world war 2 which have been chronicled on various academic websites and in libraries. I do not know where i should start looking but at least a little push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
I really hope to get this done. The first franchise i want to focus on is both well-known to us fans but is not entirely relevant anymore to contemporary Nintendo: Balloon Fight.
I thought it would make a good starting point. Thank you to anyone who is willing to help out and i hope to be a valid member of this community from here on out.
Update: I thought i would quickly update and say that when looking for sources for balloon fight i do not just mean the original NES game but anything in the series. That includes balloon Kid, the game and watch game, tingles balloon fight, it's appearance in nitnendoland, etc. Anything relating to balloon fight would be welcome.
