So in January of this year Reddit discovered that on the NES Super Mario Bros. the player can pick back up from where they left off after a game over by holding a and start on the start screen.
There's some confusion about when this first was discovered. I've confirmed this was not mentioned in the USA manual for the game.
There's claims that this was in Nintendo Power or a competing magazine in the 1980's or that is surfaced sometime in the late thousands or two thousands, or whatever you call that decade.
