Okay this going to a weird one.
Found what appears to be promo art for the GCN title. It is of the character Akari Hayami who in earlier character art (game unveiling?) has the text "Snowboard NST" written on her top, while in the final game was released the colours were completely changed and the text became "Twist Girl". As we know, NST stands for Nintendo Software Technology who developed the game.

Nice find!

My immediate reaction upon seeing this is to find out whether this has happened to Wave Race: Blue Storm as well. Alas, this doesn't seem to be the case. I can't find any good screenshot online so I'll have to re-connect my Wii (never used my GameCube since I had a Wii), but I doubt I'll get to see anything intelligible in-game.

The entire reason I came across this art was because I was searching for that 2D character art for Wave Race: Blue Storm and came across the 1080 Avalanche character art. I couldn't really find many pictures of the WR:BS character art, so I assume it hasn't changed.
