Here's an unreleased game that some may have never heard of. Sound Fantasy on the SNES is essentially Electroplankton before Electroplankton.

Too bad this game wasn't released. It probably wouldn't be well-liked at the time, but if released, it'd have been an early example of a sandbox music game. (Mario Paint's composer function is an even earlier example, so it wouldn't have been the first.)

I remember Sound Fantasy after someone talked about a prototype ROM for it being leaked.

It seems like an interesting game, and it would be nice if Nintendo officially released it some day like Star Fox 2 and EarthBound Zero. Unfortunate that it wasn't included for the SNES mini.

I was racking my brain trying to remember where I saw an article for this, thinking it was at HG101 or something, but I couldn't find it. Then I realized, I wrote one three years ago (for a site I don't write for anymore).

Also, we had a short thread about it in 2005.
