Well, so here we are. Pokémon on Switch officially announced.
I understand that they aren't going to make a main series entry until next year, given that they announced their work on the platform just a year ago, but I can imagine a lot of core fans getting rather disappointed.
A Gen 1-only game… what are they thinking? I do think it will end up being popular, though, for being earlier than the traditional games next year, and for its Pokémon GO connectivity. That said, if Pokémon GO connectivity is what they're after, why not open up the newer generations as well?

Don't know what to say about Quest, looks weird. Let's Go looks interesting and probably serves as a testbed for Game Freak to learn and experiment when working with Switch hardware, good to see they got co-op in there even if it looks unbalanced. The Poke Ball Plus looks like an interesting peripheral. That said, if Pokémon GO connectivity is what they're after, why not open up the newer generations as well? Probably for compatibility reasons and for it being a remake of Yellow's Kanto region.
