For North American users only. As the compressed title says, the 3DS app that allows you to use the 3DS as a controller for the Wii U version is up as a 80 platinum coin reward, so it's basically free (or like 2-3 weeks worth of earning platinum coins).
While you can technically just use a 3DS with Smash 3DS connected to the Wii U version as a controller, this allows you to do that without it (then again is everyone just using their GCN controllers?) Thought it was worth giving it own thread otherwise it wouldn't be seen.

I play Smash Wii U with the good ol' Wii U GamePad. In the rare occasion that I play multiplayer, I'll get Wii Remotes and Nunchuks. It's silly, but multiplayer happens less than once per year. I'm the sole traditional gamer in my family, and we usually don't invite outsiders. More importantly, the GameCube controller adaptor was out of stock when I bought Smash.
I imagine I'll be sticking with Joy-Cons when Smash Ultimate comes out.
