Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn marks the end of an era, as of today, Nintendo has no upcoming 3DS titles announced for release. For me the 3DS really ended with the release of WarioWare Gold last year, but I still play Fire Emblem and Pokemon on mine. It was a good little system, but I think we can all agree that it's for the best that it retires and Switch takes center stage.

And eight years later, I've still never owned any 3DS system, making it the first Nintendo platform since the Virtual Boy that I completely skipped out on.
Not that I ever had anything against it, or that I wouldn't have enjoyed owning one, but it just never became enough of a priority for me. I had enough to play on Wii and Wii U.

As I said before, the 3DS is my favourite Nintendo system. But it's way past the time to move on in terms of new releases. I do wonder why did Nintendo insist on releasing 3DS games all the way into 2019. Perhaps they wanted to tell buyers new games are still coming? Unlike the Wii U, where quite a few small downloadable titles came out after Zelda BotW (mostly Cosen games in Japan), with the 3DS most third party publishers have long abandoned it by the time the last Nintendo-published game came out. The only "upcoming" 3DS games I know of are Mobile Ball from Mixi (actually, has it become vapourware?) and the four-times-delayed remake of a WWII-themed Daisenryaku title in Japan and Persona Q2 in the west.
