So this just showed up in my YouTube recommendations. I haven't played this game and I don't honestly have any thoughts on the matter, except to say "Worth checking out." I will say that I quite like that the game is actively discouraging you from paying full price for its content. Beyond that I find it difficult to articulate my thoughts on the subject, and so I'll leave it here.

I read about this. It's funny to think that a character in a game was hidden behind a paywall that the game actually discourages you from paying for, and thus almost no one knew about the character for years.

It's nice what creative Nintendo characters we can find in hidden or obscure works. Many are revealed on the Smash Ultimate spirits list (but to some of us; they are familiar as we tend to attract dedicated players or an older audience). A personal favourite of mine is ウォーツァルト (Wozart); they are implied to be non-gender conforming - a stereotypically very masculine person (in contrast to Birdo) in their expression e.g. "boku" - and inspired by Mozart. On their playing card (numbers, Jack, Ace, Joker, King, Queen); they are a Queen.
These sorts, do not necessarily have no Google results (but some like Wozart are found outside of Japan), and if they do in one language; due to the filter bubble Internet phenomena, there may be references to them in another language, as was the case with Pappy.
