At some point, a community of hackers/researchers have set up a Discord for researching the Mobile System GB (Nintendo's obscure online Game Boy Color/Game Boy Advance service requiring a compatible mobile phone and the Mobile Game Boy Adapter/Mobile Adapter GB) - kind of similar to the Satellaview enthusiasm in the past.
The ultimate goal is to bring full support for the service back up, and some great progress has already been made with Japanese Pokémon Crystal. A fully online trade using the predecessor to the GTS has been replicated for the first time in nearly 18 years now, and an unofficial Arduino Mobile Adapter is being made so players can use the Mobile System GB with modern phones (including smart phones I believe).
The project, while Japanese Pokémon Crystal is a priority, we want all official Mobile System GB games to be supported/documented some day, so in a Nintendo first-party/partner sense; this includes Mobile Golf, Japanese Napoleon, Japanese Mario Kart Super Circuit and the cancelled Baketsu Daisakusen (also with less strict criteria; games directly from the Mobile21 Nintendo/Konami joint venture like Net de Get: Minigame @ 100 (though Konami, not Nintendo's side), as well as Game Boy Wars 3 (fortunately, in the past a few general information on supported titles was available on a Japanese Geocities fan-site)).
Anyone who wants to add to the project can join it here.
Some of the roles we're interested in are:

There is also a Google Docs in progress covering general information about the Mobile System GB in some depth which is still incomplete.

For some games, specific downloadable content information is available because it has been accessible on websites that mentioned it/data-mined/and we have to find them on second hand cartridges, in which some (likely) Game Boy Advance save data may not have expired.
One of the members is actually buying multiple copies of the same Game Boy Advance Mobile System GB games, in the interest of extracting data.
Examples of some interesting content:
With many of us here knowing obscure Nintendo information, if you have anything to add to the Google Document let me know and I can add it.

Some of the roles we're interested in are:
- People who can gather old sources when the system was active
- Data-miners and programmers
- People who have any of the supported games, and can provide general information, DLC information
- Translators
- In addition to people who have the supported games, collectors in general who may have further information in the form of old magazines, tapes, etc.
- Networking specialists
