Last night I put back up the old Dolphin Reference Guide. This is basically a page where I put all references to the Gamecube's codename, Dolphin, in all N64 and Gamecube games released after May 1999 (when the name was announced). Can you all check it out and let me know if you've spotted any more? I hear there's probably some in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, and possibly another one in SSBM. Please note the bit near the bottom of the guide - repeated references in sequels (eg. the Dolphin spaceship appearing in Pikmin 2) will not be included, as they have simply become in-series continuity.

Yay, it's back I think there's a reference in a game that isn't listed there, but I just can't remember which game it is... No, wait! I remember... a bit. A long time ago (probably a few years ago) I read on some cheats site that in a N64 Zelda game (either OoT or MM, can't remember which) there was some kind of room where there were some people... And if you talked to them, they said that they were working on the Dolphin or something... I only remember this very vaguely, and I'm not even sure wheter I should believe it or not. I'll try and look it up with Google and see if I find something.

Ah, here it is, I found it on www.eeggs.com! It seems to be in Zora Hall, because this is a comment on an easter egg which is also found in Zora Hall. Unfortunately, I don't have Majora's Mask, so I can't see if it's true or not

Heh, also, the Dolphin wasn't the main ship in Pikmin 2. It's only seen in the opening cinema. The ship used in Pikmin 2 is a dilapidated rusty ship.
*Spoiler* After 10,000 Pokos have been reached, the ship is given a tune-up and a gilded paint job.

I thought there was one in Majora's Mask, but when I looked for it recently I couldn't for the life of me find it! I don't have my N64 with me, but I'll check it on the Collector's Edition. I know the Dolphin was impounded in Pikmin 2, but it was there nonetheless.

I said that (in the post up there), but alas I still don't have the game, and only a vague memory of being told by someone... someone called... err... Doozy? I think? Anyway... can you explain it again so I can add it please

Whoops, didn't see that the first time. Okay, I know I probably saved that e-mail... Erm... Wait... Ah, here it is: After not playing MG:TT for about a year, I realize that I can't picture these in my head based on my descriptions. If you need clarification I'll fire up the 'Cube.

No, that should be fine for now until I get my own copy. Thanks I'll put these up now (actually might check Majora's Mask first before putting them up)...

I noticed you got my referance up, but they're not called "Dolphin Guns". Both are actualy pods. One is call "Dolphin" and the other is "Dolphin G". There's also an illegal one call "Orca" which is basicly the same thing but stronger I found a screen of it here (the bot to the right).

Sorry, I trusted your judgement but your post was a little vague And the game's not out here yet, so I couldn't verify it myself. As MUCH detail as possible. For instance... what the crap is a pod?

As MUCH detail as possible. A "pod" is a weapon that goes on the back of the bot. They do... all sorts of things. From mines, to missles, to parachuts... all sorts of stuff. The Dolphin weapons are homing missiles that just go around until they lock onto something and they can jump over some walls. Anyway, sorry I didn't give more detail. I know you normally check up on this stuff so I didn't think I'd need too.

In SSBM's Big Blue stage there are signs on either side of the track at some points which say 'BIG BLUE' and have two dolphins on them. Does that count?

Yeah that counts too. I'd heard of that one before. This is what happens when you leave old emails "until later" and never get round to adding their info.
