Here are some highlights from AGDQ so far. They had a "weird controllers" block, in which there were speedruns of games with unusual controllers.
Here's a speedrun of the Gnat Attack minigame in Mario Paint:
Here's Battleclash, with the first three stages being played facing away from the screen and aiming the Super Scope into a mirror:
Here's a silly Sega Bass Fishing speedrun using the fishing controller:
And here's Kirby Tilt 'N' Tumble, being played on a GameCube with GBA Player, so he's tilting the entire console, supplemented with a DDR Dance Pad:

That Tilt N Tumble speedrun was pretty nice, reminds of when IGN got asked why they sucked at playing WarioWare Twisted a decade ago and they revealed they were playing with a Game Boy Player. And for Valentines, better late than never . . . (Official Pokemon Pin set).

I remember seeing this video! Makes sense, because how else are they going to capture GBA gameplay? (Emulators aside.)

Finally. Also, the Nintendo Switch's model number is HAC-001. What does that stand for? EDIT 1: In other news, the Mii editor finally supports hair colours. EDIT 2: More news, and a rather sad one to me (but is probably of no concern for everyone else): The song submission and checking service for Band Brothers P is coming to an end. That means no more submissions of copyrighted songs will be accepted (original song submissions are still open). Which is too bad; only a handful of game songs can be submitted, and Nintendo never opened up for more other than that one-time update to include Fire Emblem and Touhou Project music, and they never opened up for, say, Mario Kart 8 or Fire Emblem Fates. Given the absymal sales of the Band Brothers series, I think this is probably the end of it all. Too bad; this is probably the only music game where you get to play music from Mario & Luigi RPG, among others. Music from these games can be submitted, but most songs ended up having no submissions at all: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon Fire Emblem Awakening Donkey Kong Country Returns Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (partial selection) Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (partial selection) Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (partial selection) Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (partial selection) The Legend of Zelda The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 3 (partial selection) Super Mario 3D World Mario Kart Wii F-ZERO X Touhou Project series (only certain songs from official soundtracks by Shanghai Alice are accepted) Full list hereThey also take Rhythm Heaven (GBA) and MOTHER1 songs, but those aren't listed as Nintendo game music for some reason. Kirby anime music can also be found. I'll remember you fondly, Band Brothers P. Mostly for kicking me into the VOCALOID fandom.

I don't know how long will these links last, but Nintendo and INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS have posted April Fool's jokes this year. Fire Emblem: Battle of Revolutionwww.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/ajjj/0401/index.htmlSet in the late Edo period, the story follows Valbar, Leon and Kamui's involvement in the battles since they joined the feudal ruler Celica's patrol force, Team Sofia. Available from 20 April on Nintendo Switch for ¥5980 or Nintendo 3DS for ¥4980. EDIT - No, this didn't last. This is my saved copy of the page. TCG Fire Emblem CipherLast year, IS "released" a card that is completely useless. This time, two cards introduce Phoenix Mode and Classic Mode, available for those two cards only. Ema: Defeating Ema will put her card back to the player's hand instead of the retreat area. Only usable on 1 April, 2017. Shade: Deafeating Shade will completely remove her card for the rest of the game. Only usable in 1995 or before.

I saw that covered on news sites yesterday. Was the "joke" supposed to be that the game isn't real, even though people might actually be interested in something like that? Anyway, WayForward has announced a remake of the original Shantae... in the style of an Atari 2600 game. (Love the box art, tho.)

That Fire Emblem retrospective from Illiterate Scholar may never get finished seeing as how the games are now coming out more often than his videos. But in the mean time, Victor Lucas (of Electric Playground) has put together his own short retrospective. It's not exactly comprehensive (or 100% accurate), but it's a fun little watch.

So, Bubsy the Bobcat is making a comeback with a new game called Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back.
But really, I just wanted to share the madness happening on Twitter...

Hey, YL, could I bother you to tell me what this tweet says? I've run it through multiple automated translators, but I can't make out what it's supposed to say.
I'm wondering because Treasure's twitter account has been mostly dead for about two years (save for one random tweet last December), but it suddenly came back to life a little over a week ago, tweeting about stuff like the Steam sale, soundtrack releases, and mentioning that it was the company's 25th anniversary. I'm interested to know what's going on.
