Since this is off topic, I will share with you my favorite Newgrounds flash movie of all time. It does help if you're familiar with Silent Hill 2, but it's a riot. There's a bit of blood and mild language, but nothing too bad. www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/334798

OK, today here's some webcomics that need more recognition:
Daily Dinosaur Comic www.qwantz.com/archive/001072.html Its the same comic, the same panels of a T-rex stomping a house etc EVERY DAY, but the words change every time and its still one of the FUNNIEST webcomics ever!
It manages to stay fresh every time, that's how good the writing is! Conversations between T-Rex and God and T-Rex's continuing love problems with Dromiceiomimus are just some the hilights.
And from a link from there, I found Isotown www.isotown.net/index.php A small pixellated town in the style of Simcity, each panel shows a step in the towns growth (scaffolding goes up, a planted tree starts to sprout), but the little stories that go along with the panels give the town great personality.
For example, recently a shop and a house were being built next to each other, and it became a race to see who would finish first. The house team used dirty tactics like vandalism, but the shop team refused to retaliate and managed to win anyway! Recommended for people who have a lot of patience. Start at the beginning of the archive.

That Bitey Castle is awesome! Very atmospheric!
OK, animation sites:
Homestar runner Most of you have probably heard of this one, its quite a popular one. www.homestarrunner.com Basically, its a series of Flash animations about a group of odd characters. Homestar is meant to be the main character, but his antagonist Strong Bad is much more popular, and has a regularly updated show on his own section of the site. Real people email him with questions, which he answers comically.
The site also supports a number of secondary series, usually involving characters invented or imagined by Strong Bad in his show. Its slightly american, but nothing is too confusing for us Johnny Foreigners! And it's hilarious!
Weebl's Stuff Now here's a good one. It's like the ruder, madder British cousin of the Homestar website! www.weebls-stuff.com Basically, the guys just chuck out crazy animations all the time (usually musical), and sometimes the more understandable ones (with a plot and everything!) become series's.
The flagship series is of course Weebl and Bob, about two egg shaped guys hanging out and trying to obtain pie. They love pie. Check out their song parodies - Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back becomes the hilarious "I'm bringing Pastry back!"
Also, there's a series about a guy who stabs people, one about a Lord who dabbles in drugs with amusing effects, and On The Moon with a slice of toast (the king of the moon) and his neighbor, Insanity Prawn Boy.

Nester the Lark: First, The Pokémon Company gets into trouble with that whole Pokémon Masters EX hashtag business, and now this.
Jan 14, 2023 9:55:16 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: That's very embarrassing (and also entertaining). But I wonder why would The Pokémon Company post something they probably didn't make themselves?

nocturnal YL: Got to the ending of Xenoblade. I'll do the post-game contents in Casual Mode since they started to feel grindy. I'll also go back to the parts I skipped (mostly quests and Colony 6); there isn't much reason to play NG+, so I'll just complete the 1st run.

Nester the Lark: I'd like to be playing Fire Emblem Engage, but it wasn't delivered when it was supposed to be, and the shipment tracking hasn't been updated, so I have no idea what happened to it.

Nester the Lark: Times like this make me wonder if Sakurai had the right idea, and buying games digitally is the way to go.
Jan 21, 2023 18:23:18 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Digital is usually more expensive and Switch only supports up to 2TB storage (about 140 to 200 games), but if you want to play games as soon as possible, it's the way to go.
Jan 22, 2023 1:48:00 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: I don't know when will I be getting it. I'm still interested, but it's no longer the "pre-order, premium version" kind of interested. These days I order games in bulks, so maybe I'll wait.
Jan 22, 2023 1:49:34 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Finally, an update. It's marked as "out for delivery" again. Fingers crossed.
Jan 23, 2023 12:58:22 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: About the prices of digital games, I often find that when they go on sale, it's usually for very cheap prices. Except for first-party Nintendo games, which rarely go on sale, and not usually for that big of a discount.
Jan 23, 2023 13:01:40 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: But then, first-party Nintendo games usually hold their value for a long time even physically.
Jan 23, 2023 13:02:21 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Welp, that's 0 for 2 on the delivery.
Jan 23, 2023 23:11:36 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: And it's out for delivery again. Third time's the charm?
Jan 26, 2023 12:54:55 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: And that's 0 for 3 on the delivery.
Jan 27, 2023 9:49:06 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: So, the delivery company gave up and sent the game back to the retailer. My order is being cancelled and money refunded.
Jan 27, 2023 20:41:21 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: I've been in contact with a customer service rep from the retailer all week, and they didn't understand why the package wasn't being delivered, either. But they're sending me a $30 gift card for the trouble, so that takes the sting out of it.
Jan 27, 2023 20:43:16 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Still considering the digital option at this point.
Jan 27, 2023 20:53:05 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Went back to my Wii U and downloaded updates / free DLC for games I don't have, in case I want to buy those.
Jan 30, 2023 7:22:29 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Wii U having only 32GB of storage isn't helpful at all. 3DS and Switch are expandable via SD cards, while Wii U only supports USB hard disks. It made sense in 2012, but with SD cards going up to 2TB now, not supporting that sounds silly now.
Jan 30, 2023 7:27:19 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: What started off as me checking what can I do with the Wii U ended up with me just having fun with the system. Also relieved that it still works perfectly fine after 2 years of disuse. Except the Wii U GamePad vibration motor, which now makes weird noises.
Jan 30, 2023 12:43:42 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: I actually planned to use a mod to dump my games and save data, so that in case anything happens to it I can move on to emulation (since, unlike Switch, there's no save data backup service). I haven't started doing that, though.
