Look at him now, disappearing a cow! ...where is the cow, hiding right now?
It's even funnier if you picture someone serious saying this at a poetry recital ;D

Another highlight: "Strawberry pancake, don't make me wait for it....strawberry pancake I'm coming for YOU!!!"

Ah, good times.
Oh, and of course: "Mango mango mangomangomango mangoooooo..."

People reading this must think we're mad
"I've got a big bag of crabs here, Iiiii'm gonna put them in my mouth (OH YES!)"

The people who don't know about these animations are the mad ones!
"hebbuda habbada huubbada hey, that's how I'll sound with a mouth full of crabs!"

nocturnal YL: Almost done writing the text for my review. I still have to do double-checking and pick screenshots. This will be a long post, though not longer than my Surge Concerto DX review. This should be done in a few days, I thinkā¦?

Nester the Lark: I like that Nintendo said this Direct would be for games launching in 2024, and then announced a bunch of stuff for 2025. (Full thoughts later.)

nocturnal YL: NVIDIA is hailed as one of the most advanced tech companies, but here I am, trying to figure out why CUDA doesn't work with my browser or my vector graphics editor.

nocturnal YL: For some reason, AI-generated articles and videos tend to start the final paragrah with "in conclusion" like English students doing writing composition assignments. This makes those articles rather easy to detect as AI-generated.

Nester the Lark: In college, if I ended a paper *without* using the words "in conclusion," then the instructors often assumed that the last paragraph wasn't intended to be one, and they would call me out for not having a conclusion.
Jun 22, 2024 14:27:38 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Or maybe I'm actually bad at writing conclusions. Funnily, I would get praise for my introductions.

Nester the Lark: I was looking to see what my previous thoughts were on SNK Heroines, but it doesn't seem that I actually wrote much.

Nester the Lark: Ironically, making a thread about why I don't play fighting games has led me to playing fighting games.

Nester the Lark: I still feel like maybe I should've bought the Miss X DLC for SNK Heroines. I suppose it's not too late, but I'm already getting a little tired of it, and I'm moving on to Smash for Wii U in my exploration of casual-friendly fighting games.
Jul 14, 2024 8:24:29 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Ah, Smash Wii U, where bosses and CPU players can casually take me down. Certainly a casual game. Maybe I'm just bad at playing this kind of game and you'll do better.
Jul 14, 2024 9:51:12 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: I still haven't moved on and I'm currently still doing Atelier Shallie DX postgame stuff. I can make better items than the guides I read in some cases, while in others I'm still missing specific item properties.
Jul 14, 2024 10:59:47 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: After playing Smash, it's clear that what SNK Heroines really needed was more game modes. Particularly single-player game modes.
Jul 16, 2024 16:53:49 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Somehow, I think I've gotten better at playing Smash.
Jul 19, 2024 11:20:25 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Apparently, SNK is working on a new Art of Fighting game, as well as a Samurai Showdown action-RPG. They casually mentioned this during their developer panel at EVO.
Jul 20, 2024 13:59:09 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: I've gotten bored of Smash after about a week, the same as with SNK Heroines. I'd say Smash is still the gold standard for accessible fighting games.
Jul 22, 2024 9:17:55 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: I've started a new game of Ys Seven. I don't know if I'll play it all the way through (it's ~40 hours), but I wanted to see if still holds up to my memories.
Jul 22, 2024 9:20:40 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Actually, Ys Seven is probably shorter than 40 hours. I remembered that I spent a lot of time grinding skills, which was completely unnecessary, so it's maybe closer to 30 hours.

nocturnal YL: I love how Fry just randomly shows up and leaves an announcement that NinDB will transform, effective next day.
Jul 25, 2024 12:21:10 GMT -5
Fryguy64: I'm also wary these days of announcing anything before I know I can finish it. Which in this case is "about 24 hours before I desperately want to share it"
