The era of K'Nex Mario had finally ended, now begins the the era of LEGO Mario toys?Edit: Some notes on what I can see. - Looking at the teaser video closer it looks like a electronic Mario toy with not just a screen in it's chest, but also it's mouth and eyes. - If the scale of the (Lego) bricks (including the brickset.com/parts/design-98283 to represent the Mario "brick blocks") it's standing it looks to be at least 4 studs wide. - Now assuming it makes sounds, could the (screen) mouth move for talking? - Could the screens be used for RFID like an amiibo to "read" what bricks it is standing on or touching? Eg: stand Lego Mario on ? block and the ? mark item roulette sequence begins? - The yellow buckles on Mario's suspenders look like a pair of round 1x1 flat tiles.- Is that a black button on the underside of Mario crotch? There's also apparently a theory that if Lego gets the license to something (eg Star Wars, Harry Potter, LoTR, etc) they also get the license to make Lego games from it, so maybe having this electronic Lego Mario toy (with some sort of "real world" game functionality?) could be some sort of loophole to get around that? This entire idea seems like something that Nintendo would be happy to greenlight with Lego on (Eg: "make experiences that haven't be done before" mentality), which seems to concindently concide with this quote from a recently translated Miyamoto interview.TL:DR Collab with Lego, resulting in a electronic toy Mario that could interact with Mario themed Lego bricks?

Voice actor Joe Zieja, known for his work as the English voices for Claude in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Kurt Vander in Trails of Cold Steel III, and Fox McCloud in that Star Fox Zero animated short (among others), has released a short comedy video on what it's like to dub anime.
This is funny, because I sometimes wonder what voice actors think about some of the anime tropes that the have to perform, especially some of the cheesier material.
And on that note...

This year's April Fool's was pretty underwhelming. The most notable one I can think of is PlatinumGames' announcement, but I generally don't like them enough to care. There's also this, which I can't determine if it even counts as an April Fool's: This is one that I kind of liked, and it actually managed to fool me for a split second. Non-gaming related: The IETF continues their fine tradition of publishing April Fools' RFCs ( RFC 8774, RFC 8771), and I did find this year's enjoyable.
Unrelated to the above, here's an announcement from IS. This doesn't seem to fit anywhere else, so I'm posting it here. FE Cipher is ending. It's been a good run, but still sad to see it go.

I wonder if the fact that one of the "Platinum 4" being just an April Fools joke was intended to be a reference to how one of the Capcom 5 also never came out.
I didn't really see any other worthwhile jokes, either. It was mainly cheap pranks from news outlets saying things like Nintendo was going to re-release Hotel Mario and stuff like that.
EDIT: Well, there was this fake announcement for a new Donald Duck game from the makers of Monster Boy. It turns out, however, that this was from an actual pitch they made to Disney. It was turned down, so they recycled the concept art for the joke.
And that's a shame about Cipher. It has some cool artwork.

The dance group "KOMAZAWA ISOLATION" made a few videos parodying action adventure games in real life. Another unsourced clip, probably taken from TikTok: imgur.com/gallery/DPLTJ05

And now he tweeted a shout out to PlayStation for the launch of the PS5.
And in case you didn't see, Xbox and Phil Spencer both responded to Doug's tweet.
I like seeing this kind of thing. Console wars suck. Always did, always will.

Here's a trailer for the grand opening of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan.
Seems like a heck of a time to open something like this with the pandemic still going on. But I suppose Japan (and, well, everywhere) has it a lot more under control than here in the US.
