Ya' know what'd be nice.... a great big alphabetical listing of all the games for those of us who aren't entirly sure of when certain games came out or what system they're on.

Yeah, that's a good idea. It'd probably take a while to make that list though, Nintendo has made & published a LOT of games!

I have been considering adding more lists to specific consoles, but I always balk at the idea of doing a multi-platform list. Alphabetical lists will be most likely to be added, and I've considered listing them by genre and series as well. Can anyone think of any they would like (or does anyone have any good reasons why these ideas would be bad?) Of course, they will be added as the site is reformatted into the new layout. I can't be bothered with reformatting the lists that I'll be replacing before long

Nah, I've already dumbed many games down into basic categories anyway. Here are some of the ones I will be using in the future (or present, if you mean the GC lists):
Action / Platformer - Anything like Mario, basically. A side-scrolling or 3D platformer. Action / Adventure - Zelda's category, and so also the category for Nazo no Murasame Jou and Starfox Adventures. Action / FPS - Nintendo don't do many of these. Goldeneye, Metroid Prime and the forthcoming Geist are pretty much it. Action / Shooting Space adventures, from classic arcades to Starfox and Starfox 64. Action / Strategy Exclusively Pikmin at the moment. See strategy below for more. Adventure - Specific to text adventures (Shin Oni Ga Shima, Famicom Tantei Club, and all of those). RPG - A game where you don't battle enemies with action, but with menus. So Pokemon is a prime example... and Final Fantasy. Strategy - Like an RPG, but more like chess. Fire Emblem lives here. Puzzle Surprisingly vague... Tetris, Yoshi's Cookie and so on count, but what about Clu Clu Land? Kuru Kuru Kururin? And so on. Communication - Anything that doesn't feature action or sport, really. Animal Crossing is the prime contender, but also Nintendogs. Sport - Duh... Anything that is a real sport, except where you race. Racing - Mario Kart, 1080 Snowboarding, F-Zero, Kirby Air Ride... and more. Rhythm-Action - Donkey Konga, do-do-doo-doo-do! Utility - Anything that isn't really a game, but an expansion. Pokemon Box, or F-Zero X Expansion Kit for instance. Compilation - I'm debating whether this should be a category or not. You know the stuff... five games in one and all that. Simulation - Err... pretty much anything that doesn't fit into any category above. Mainly Doshin the Giant.
As for why doing a site wide list makes me choke on my own liver? Because, at my last count, this site has around 525 games covered on its pages, and that's not including future releases or the ones I'm supposed to get back up (eg. arcades, Atari, etc.) That's either a very VERY long list, or one that requires a lot of upkeep as I move things from page to page (remember, this isn't really a database, it's all hand-coded HTML). Besides, the number of times I've been asked what system a game is on is negligible, and has only ever been asked of games that don't appear on this site anyway ("I swear I saw such-and-such a game, but it's not on your list. Did I dream it up?" etc. etc.) So it's not a high priority for me, to be brutally honest. A lot of work for something no-one's really going to use, and that would be too big to use anyway? Naaah...

I guess those genres would work... not what I'd personaly use, but still good.
As for not doing the huge list.... that makes sence. Though, you may want to consider some day making it an actual database. That'd probably make it alot easier to keep up to date and stuff.

Don't I know it... but it would mean learning a whole new web language... and ANOTHER huge change to the site.
Frankly, so long as it behaves, I'm happy with the way it's going.
