It's amazing how they can compare two hand-helds to each other when they haven't even been released yet...

Were there categories or something? I find it funny that the DS is being compared to the PSP at all. That's like comparing the PC with the Playstation... or the N-Gage with a videogame console (*snicker*)... they're not competing. Besides, wireless networking will sell the DS to consumers, and let's be honest - Wario Ware will sell it for the rest of us

Actually it was the rabid Nintendo fanboyism that will sell it to me. But the games will certainly help.

The PSP will be just like the PS & PS2 in what sort of games we can expect - there are some good, but most are your standard sports, cars or shoot 'em' ups... The NDS has features that mean that it's games will be first-of-a-kind games involving new types of gameplay... and seeing as I am a Nintendo loyalist, there's no question as to which system I'll be picking up... the PSP. Seriously though, the NDS should be great, and it'll have the first Mario Bros. side-scroller of its kind since SMW for SNES, so it ought to be great...

I'm more excited about Wario Ware and Animal Crossing personally. And anything crazy and new Miyamoto cooks up of course!
And because Nintendo Europe is FINALLY translating Animal Crossing and releasing it over here, I expect we'll be getting the DS version too. Unless they take another friggin' three years to translate that one too...

Oh, is Europe getting AC now?
It's out in Australia, but I don't own it - reading about it 2 years ago go me interested in the GCN (I was thinking of stepping out of video game collection - thank heavens I didn't...), but I never bought the game... as it looked so old by that stage (which is stupid logic to take, seeing as my favoutite games ever are old SNES games).
Honestly, tell me, is AC good? - should I buy it, cos I will buy it if you can tell me it is absolutely a must have (but it will mean selling Mario vs. DK).
On the DS (just to stay on-topic), I'm also interested in what the Super Mario 64x4 multiplayer might be like - if it's good, then I may be investing in that one too...

Animal Crossing always looked outdated by the standards the Gamecube is capable of, as it uses N64-era graphics. But that's not what's important. It adds to its charm.
I was so in love with the concept that I imported it, and then I played it all the time. It starts off quite small with you doing tasks to earn money (Bells), and then you buy some furniture, maybe make a shirt design, and then there's nothing else to do so you save and turn off.
Then you earn more Bells and pay back your mortgage and get a bigger house, so you buy more furniture, but you need more money, so you collect seashells and bugs and sell them. Then you get a taste for bug-collecting and fishing and start filling up the museum.
Before you know it, you will know every character in your town, and will know the exact lay of the land. You will be making friends and hitting your enemies with the bug net to piss 'em off. Then someone new moves in and you spend too much time befriending them.
And then a special event occurs. I've never stayed up on Christmas Eve collecting furniture from a reindeer before... or spend Thanksgiving stealing cutlery for a turkey who also kits my house out in turkey-themed gear!
And then you get a Game Boy Advance cable... or an e-Reader... or someone else moves into your town and starts writing letters that the animals show you, or you head to another town and collect their fruit for your own...
Yes... it's not just good... it's TOO good...

The Ds version of Animal Corssing probably won't have the internal clock, will it? Or will it? - I don't know, so I'm asking...
I don't want a portable version of it, cos it's too small - I think it'll work better on the current bigger TV screen layout...
On the DS, who here is looking forward to Wario Ware, Inc. DS? - I think it looks great - I haven't played the GBA version yet, but the DS verison with the use of the touch-screen looks like a lot of fun... I hope it gets great reviews, cos I'll buy it if it's any good!

There's really no reason for the DS not to have an internal clock considering everything it's supposed to do. And, personaly, I think Animal Crossing will work much better with the dual screens and touch screen then it does on a console.
