So what are your opinions on the release of ported NES games on the Game Boy Advance for $20 each? Remember that's more than half of what the original games were worth at release. The Japanese seem to enjoy them, and Nintendo's portrayal of them there as an honest 20th anniversary celebration seems to pay off. Also remember that they aren't paying as much for them. However, to release the same games in the US and Europe at an inflated price and with no extras, where that anniversary is still a year off, it seems like nothing more than greediness. These games should not be going for more than $10 in my opinion, and I doubt they'll do nearly as well in America as they did in Japan because of a combination of all of these things. Am I wrong or what? What do you think? PS: I will probably buy them all anyway...

I don't mind the price. To me, all the games are relatively new since I don't have an NES and I was born after they were released originally. I bought The Legend of Zelda because the others have already been re-released on other platforms (like e-Reader and GBC) and I didn't went to get the Zelda Collector's Disc because I already had OoT and MM.

I loved that Nintendo is doing it, but the price is insane. They're worth no more then $5 a piece and I'm amazed anyone would pay more then $10. They're simnply not worth what Nintendo is charging.

I am not sure about all this. I mean, it's ok to remember old games and make a new version of it for those who where young when it was first released, but personally, some re-releases are starting to get annoying like Mario Bros. that has more than 8 new versions in the last 3 years!
Mario Bros. has been in Animal Crossing, Super Mario Advance, 2,3, 4, Mario and Luigi SSS, e-card series and the Famicon Mini V.2 Series. It's just too much.
It's just a theory, but maybe the plans of selling all the Classic NES games again was what stopped Nintendo of giving SMB and TLoZ in Animal Crossing.

*Used an Action Replay to get SMB and LoZ in Animal Crossing* *Also used an Action Replay to get the Gift Trophies in SSBM* I hate it when they hold out on us. The price does seem extortionate when you consider how cheaply they are available now. You could probably buy a working NES and original copies of all the games for the price of 2 Classic NES series games (or 3-4 if you were going for complete boxed versions).

Heck, you could buy Animal Crossing and Namco Museam and get all 'em 'cept for Bomberman (which wasn't that good anyway) for just $30.

Yes, we all know that all those prizes are accessible with a Code Breaker but it's not the same feeling as when you do the right thing to get them. Anyway, I don't have an Action Replay. I'll have to live without them.

I only had the Action Replay for the Freeloader in the first place, as Animal Crossing STILL isn't out here (till September)... and I wanted those two Gift Trophies (Samus Unmasked and Mario & Yoshi) in SSBM.
I only cheat for the things Nintendo won't give us... and to try out weird stuff that wasn't in the game (anyone played that weird photo-background level in SSBM?)

I also think the prices are too high. I don't plan to buy any; however, I do own many of the originals already. I can imagine that I would end up buying certain ones if I didn't own the old NES games.

I don't mind the classic NES series that much I just wish they would go down five to ten dollors, heck I already have two of them at the current price.
On the subject of the weird background in ssbm, I have not seen this. could someone give me a link?

I really wish the price would go down too, but the classic packaging is definitely tempting.
If series 2 is released in the US, there's no way I'll be able to resist a hand-held Balloon Fight that's independent of the e-Reader.

Why collect Classic NES Series GBA games, when you can collect the original NES games themelves - I'm doing that with Mario Bros. and Zelda games, and they look a helluva lot better than GBA mini-versions - nothing beats having boxed NES games on your shelf (except maybe $100 million...)

I'd spend a not insignificant portion of $100 million on my collection. Then set some aside for me and my lady to buy a house and have a holiday... Because holiday is where my Game Boy gets the MOST attention... Oh dear

Ha! Funny man... I haven't used a gameboy in years - I play the GBA games I have on my GBA Player for the GCN - I have an addiction to big plasma screens since one graced our TV room - I still haven't gotten over it, even if it does over-stretch the graphics on Mario & Luigi making Mario about as big as a fist...
