OK, well...
I have this game for GBA, and it is good - it has cool graphics, alright music, cool sounds and voice, and plays pretty well... but I'm not liking it that much...
I was wondering what you people thought, as I am considering selling it (it's still in near-perfect condition), but am not sure as to whether I should, cos I collect Mario Bros. games, and, well, this is a Mario Bros. game (but it's not a regular one, cos it's against DK, and not set in the Mushroom Kingdom)...
What do you people think of the game, and what should I do?

Dude... the Mario / Donkey Kong conflict is WAY older than that newfangled Mario / Koopa conflict. ;D Keep it and play it to death. Then collect the original Game Boy Donkey Kong and play that to death too. Then work your way back through the ages until you have ALL the Donkey Kong games. Don't bother with Donkey Kong Land though... that was rubbish

I know it's the original conflict (self-confessed Mario Bros. fanatic over here who knows the entire series back to front, or so I say), but I just wasn't enjoying the game that much... I mean, it's not a very deep game - you jump mand flip and pick stuff up on a singe screen and then go through a door... I don't know... And, as a collector, I can't own the NES DK games and then not have all the games in the series... it would pretty much make me go insane... And then there are the SNES DK Country games, which with the NES trilogy, the GB 1994 game and Mvs.DK = 8 games... As much of a good game it might be, I may forego the DK conflict and stick to the Koopa conflict (I'm not collecting the Super Mario Land through Wario Land series either,as that would then require me to get Wario World and the Wario Ware games which I am not interested in...) At least the Zelda series is easy to collect (but it's stroyline is all over the placec) - I just can't win, can I?

The Wario games are some of my favourites ever. Wario Ware was also a completely fresh breath of air just as I was starting to become a bit disillusioned with the originality in games. I just try to collect PAL versions of all the games released here. I've seen websites of Japanese collectors and thought "dammit, I want a collection like that but for ME!" If you're a Mario collector maybe you should check this page: kikaim.s8.xrea.com/index2.htmAll Super Mario (A-Suma) is made by a Japanese collector of Mario games.

Wow, that's a big collection!
Like I said though, I'm really only into the story-based platform and RPG games, and then not necessarily the GB ones - but still very very cool.
Tell me something, is the Wario Ware GCN as bad as they say - if you have it for GBA, would you bother with GCN? Also, are the Wario Land games really that good?
I still don't know what to do about the DK games... the intro to Mvs.DK is so funny, but...

Mario vs. Donkey Kong was a masterful game, so much I went back and purchased DK '94 from e-bay.
You may be able to be a Mario fan and get away not playing the DKC-esque games, but there is no way you can skip the Wario Land games. They're sacred!
And on the bright side, DKC2 is being ported and DKC3 will inevitably be ported too. So it's not like it'll be too hard to go back and enjoy those classic games.

I loved Mario vs. DK. My favorite DK game in ages, and my favorite NST game yet (though that mioght change with MP: Hunters). I hope they make more.

I have similar issues with building my Mario collection. I was hesitant about getting the DK games at first too, but decided that I would only need to get the games featuring Mario (since my collection is for Mario games). Thus, I only needed DK, DK Jr., DK 94, and M vs. DK. I was also hesitant about getting the Mario Land and Wario Land games, but I gave in because SML2 is a quality Mario game, like a cross between SMB3 and SMW, and the Wario Land games are really innovative and enjoyable. The only problem is that I now need a Virtual Boy for Mario Clash and VB Wario Land.

DK '94 was my very first game and is still one of my favorites. I like Mario vs. DK even more because it keeps the old gameplay style of getting a key to the door, and it introduces the new one of leading the Mini-Marios to the toy box. But it's not as long as the other one.

Well Masamune and Ness, I think you two have solved my problem!
I won't get the DK games (even though they are Mario), cos they aren't my type of game, but I will get the Mario Land/Wario Land 6 set series...
However, what about Wario World and the Wario Ware games? - they are pretty much the other biggest Wario games - should I get them too?

Wario World is basically 2-1/2D Wario Land, with all the treasure collecting and enemy-bashing. It's just as good as the Game Boy versions, though I think it's a little easier. Wario Ware doesn't really fall under the same category, but I would suggest you buy it anyway. It's probably my favourite Game Boy Advance game of all. I've heard not a single bad word said against the GC version either. You must have been talking to people who haven't tried the multiplayer (which is the WHOLE POINT!)

Do you not love the ignorance of people who bash multiplayer games they never actually played multiplayer?

I love it like a spoon in the eye.
That is, I find it amusing at first, but after a while it just hurts my brain!

That's why I (grudgingly) never bash Mario Party. I'd like to, but I've never played it multiplayer and only like... once one player.

Well...
Wario World looks OK, but I have read some very bad reviews on it, saying that it is too easy, or that there is no replay value, and that it's kinda bad as a game... I don't belive everything I read, but I think Wario works best on the handheld (I've played WL), so I might just stick to him on the handheld...
As for multiplayer Wario Ware on GCN, well... I have nobody to play with - my parents sure aren't interested, and my sister dislikes video games, and my friends don't play (well some do, but I don't see them very often)...
I hate that I'll only be collecting certain games within the Wario series and not others, but I think it's best if I jyst get the handheld Wario games - anyway, Wario Ware for the DS system looks like it could be very very cool and different even to the GBA version, so I think it'll be great.
