Hey.
How come I can't get all of the alternate music to play in Super Smash Bros. Melee? I can get it to work for certain stages, like Hyrule and Termina, but I can't get it to work for others, like Icicle Mountain. I'm holding down L and R during stage selection, but it's just not working. What am I doing wrong?

I never got the alternate music on Icicle Mountain working either... Ah, according to the cheats page for Super Smash Bros. Melee on GameFAQs.com, you need to unlock Sound Test to make some musics play, it also says that you have to hold L or R... That's strange, the alternate musics (except for the Icicle Mountain one) always play fine with me if I hold both L and R..

if you're playing a multiplayer then everyone needs to hold l+r... it always seems to work for me in single player tho

I tried out different combinations of button presses to get alternate music and found that it always works so long as you hold down L & R on each player's controller. If you have four connected but only two people playing then you only have to hold it down on the two playing - but BOTH have to hold it down for it to work.
But I didn't check before I unlocked the Sound Test, though I would be surprised if that was a requirement for the button-combo (I did notice that unlocking Sound Test made the alternate music play randomly more often).
I will take out my memory card and try it out later.

Yeah that's right, all players need to hold down the L and R buttons for it to work, if it still doesn't work, then maybe you need to beat the game with the Ice-Climbers themselvs or some other requirement.
