Rockin' K. K.

I was looking on GameWinners this afternoon for some handy hints on Animal Crossing, and I saw some things about Rockin' K. K., one of K. K. Slider's songs. Could they be cameos?

Okay, here's one of the things someone at GameWinners said:

the "Rockin' K.K." song frequently plays clips from the SNES game, Stunt Race FX. It is on the menu screen.

I don't really understand this one... 'frequently'? Is Rockin' K. K. played in a different way every time or something? And what's on the menu screen..?


Here's another one:

The beginning of the song K.K. Rockin is one of the battle music selections from Earthbound

I've only played Earthbound once, so I hardly remember anything about the music...


Also, I just saw another interesting thing...
According to GameWinners, the spring and fall medals look like that Mario coin you see in the beginning of Super Mario All-Stars! Unfortunately, I don't have the spring or fall medal, so I can't confirm this either...

If someone can confirm anything of this is true, it'd be greatly appreciated Then hopefully, it could be included in one of the next NinDB updates ;D

animal crossing is about 90% cameos if you ask me, half the items are nintendo related...

edit: i just realise that saying its 90% cameos and then saying half of it is cameos makes no sense, but i'll leave it for the amusement of others

Anyone can write any old stupid crap on Gamewinners. Fact is, only K.K. Song is a cameo in any way shape or form. The others might bring back fond memories of games past, but I've listened long and hard to all of the suggestions, and they're all a load of turd.

The medals thing, however, IS true. But I'm going to wait until I have a PAL version of Animal Crossing (oh yeah, and my PC with TV Card) before I do a big Animal Crossing cameo update.

You don't have to wait, you can also just buy the Australian version of the game, like I did

I bought an imported Canadian version and Freeloader to celebrate the end of my 2nd-year university exams. I also bought Wario Ware for the same reason

But I am now a UK collector, and so require a full UK collection! Alas, I am now restricted in my purchasing decisions! Call me crazy, but I am a happy man!

Actually, I think the opening to Rockin' K.K. is identical to the opening of the New Age Retro Hippie battle theme in Earthbound.

I have AC and just listened to Rockin' K.K., then jumped over to Starmen.net to compare. However, only the opening is the same, not the entire song. Maybe a reference, maybe not.

You're right, the opening does sound similar!

Well, the hippy battles weren't entirely original musically... they were based on real tunes. So it's not really surprising that other songs also based on the same real tunes will sound somewhat similar.

However, Rockin' K.K. was one of the first songs I got in the game, and it only sounds "similar"... and so is highly unlikely to be a cameo.
