It'll probably be region free, those region things are only there for different TV formats (if I remember correctly)... And the DS doesn't need a TV, so...

Regions can be artificially added, but the Australian courts are beavering away at making that illegal.
But I heard it'll be region-free when it's out. I will hold on to my pennies though... Christmas will be expensive enough as it is!

Good old Australian courts! (I hope to be working within them some day...)

Bad joke... Seriously though, that case about the dingo recently came up again in the news - the lasy (Chamberlain) who said her baby was eaten was accused of murder when it happened - new evidence suggests that a dingo actually was responsible for it... On another note... OMG!!!!! The DS will definitely be hitting the US in November - go to IGN... NOW!!! It will cost US$150 (AU$200-250), and will then hit Japan in December... Europe and Australia will get it in early (1st quarter) 2005!!! ;D ;D ;D I can hardly wait!

Wow! $150? That's a pretty good price! And with games that will probably be around $30, the DS will be a must buy! ;D

I won't be getting it.
I'll just get a few select things (Paper Mario 2, The Family Guy Live in Las Vegas CD, and the Invader ZIM Volume 3 DVD set) for Christmas this year.
That, and I'm not much of a fan of Portable games.

I wasn't a handheld games fan either, until they satrted porting all my favourite Mario Bros. games onto handheld systems... now I need them, so I can play the classics without pulling out the old systems... it's great!

I beat that problem by never putting my old systems away in the first place... ...and then I buy the remakes anyway... ...and then I play them all... ...because I spent all my money on games, so I can't do anything else... D'oh!

I think this is proof that Nintendo loves us all very very much. I can't wait for the DS. I'm going to be spending so much money in the next few months. Donkey Konga, Paper Mario 2, Metroid Prime 2, Nintendo DS with several games(Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 64x4, Metroid Prime Hunters, Animal Crossing DS, Nintendogs), Minish Cap, and I'm probably forgetting several things.

Big spender. I can't afford all of that (other short and long term monetary commitments), and as such can only focus on my favourites from now on - the Mario Bros. games... (Heck, I might even have to sell all the Zelda ones! )
