Why import it? It's due out in America soon. February, I believe...
I know GB/GBC carts won't fit into the DS, but I was explaining why Nintendo manufactured it that way.

Well, Australia gets the DS on february 24th for AUD $200, which is pretty damn good. We'll have SM64DS and the new Wario Ware Touched game on release, along with other stuff.
I won't be buying one until a bit later. Firstly, I don't want the Metroid demo (stupid, I know, but I'm picky about my collections). Secondly, I may wait until E3 to see the future line-up for the DS...
As for E3... I'm worried, and I don't know why... If the DS future line-up dissapoints and the "Revolution" ain't revolutionary... what will we do???

I've had a DS since Christmas, but haven't bought any game for it.
I'm just using it as a backlit GBA. (I don't have an SP)

Ooh, it's not too long till it's released here in Europe now... March 11th, right? BTW, has anyone else here from Europe seen the DS TV commercial? It's quite funny

Not yet. I didn't know the TV ad campaign had started. However, I was informed by former colleagues that it would be a good idea to pre-order DS launch software over here, as the system is in very high demand.
They are expecting to sell out of SM64DS and Warioware.
