Meh, a vague comment from a developer, reproduced in a magazine where they probably can't tell the different between Mario and Sonic anyway.
I bet they will "need it like we need oxygen". They always say that... twice in the last issue. I wouldn't be surprised if they're actually one cause of Nintendo's failing in the UK.

If it weren't for the occasional music CDs included recently, I wouldn't buy NOM at all. It's pretty terrible. And all their news is pretty old by the time the magazine is printed, thanks to the marvel of the internet.

I prefer NGC magazine - its much better, not biased towards Nintendo games, and really funny ;D

I live in Canada, so all the game magazines are American.
My friend recently went on a trip to Europe, and brought back two multiplatform gaming magaznes. Needless to say they were excellent. Much, much better than some of the tripe they pass as gaming journalism here.

Mario and Sonic in a game wouldn't be bad. The only thing I'm conserned about is that nintendo might be selling out Mario.

My friend recently went on a trip to Europe, and brought back two multiplatform gaming magaznes. Needless to say they were excellent. Much, much better than some of the tripe they pass as gaming journalism here. Entirely depends what you're reading. If you can, pick up a copy of Edge. It's a bit pretentious at times, but it's possibly the only games magazine I've read that takes it seriously. It's intelligently written, carefully edited, and they don't review every piece of rubbish that drops onto their mat. They do quite like to showcase their free promotional gifts, though. And any magazine that manages to be intelligent and mature, yet still loves Pokemon and Mario games, is okay by me I can confirm, by the way, that NOMUK did say that bit about Sonic and Mario at the end of their interview. There were no additional hints, however. I was also quite surprised to read their list of cockups they made in the magazine during the 2004 games roundup. My list of their cockups is several (hundred) times longer... but hey, what can you do, eh?

#1: nintendo power
and in my imaginary x system mario makes a cameo in sonic gpx. there was a rumor about ssbm in which you had to beat 20 enemies in cruel melee (yes, in one match) and if you did, you could play as sonic.

I read somewhere in the Nintendoland forums that Sonic was supposed to be in SSBM, but was left out due to time. I wish I had the link!

Yeah, no... that was a lie. Don't believe everything you read on forums... especially Nintendo Land's. I got into trouble with some readers a couple of years back thanks to a bit of rogue information I picked up from there. Even here you're not safe. If I say "I will update NinDB with such-and-such this week", it usually means "I will not update NinDB for a week, and this won't get put up until 2012". ;D But generally you can believe what we say here. We tend to do our research. Unlike Nintendo Land

I subscribe to Nintendo Power. Mostly just because I'm a fan of Nintnedo, not because of it's content. For video games reviews I watch X-play. I love that show.

Same... except replace TtF with me, Nintendo Power with NOM UK, and the X-play show with Edge magazine.
Sadly we still lack any show that treats games with a bit of respect... ever since Gamesmaster went off the air that is.
As Gamesmaster's ex-presenter Dominik Diamond said in a recent copy of Edge (and one of my favourite interviews ever): "I have more respect for suicide bombers than I do for the people who are involved with making Gamezville" ;D

If there WAS a Mario and Sonic game, wouldn't be cool if it was a Kingdom hearts-esque game? And Fry, it's good that you're being honest..

I don't think so about Mario & Sonic. The way I see it, it will probably screw things up. Same prime example with compiling Mario and the NBA Stars in NBA Streets Vol 3
