You know, the PSP playing movies...that's kinda cool in a way. Is it possible for the DS to play Movies? That would be cool... Sitting in a car, after playing Super Mario 64 DS, I decide I'm bored of mashing buttons, and I insert Back to the Future on my DS. Someone told me the DS can't handle it...can it?

The DS is too good for movies.

What's that mean?
If the GBA can play cartoon episodes of Spongebob, then I'm sure the DS is capable of playing some form of media.
I dunno though...

not to mention about DS, even GBASP can play movies! Do you know anything about Playan? The MPEG4/MP3 player plugin! www.nintendo.co.jp/n08/playan/index.htmlSo, the answer is.... Sure. DS is capable for movies. If you still don't believe, you can try out Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt. It consists of a few short clips, so you can examine its quality. Playan should arrive the US market within 2~3 months (Nintendo regstered "V-Pocket" and it is assumed to be the American Playan), just wait! Here's a fact: N64 can also handle movie clips (Pokemon Puzzle League).

Sorry to burst your bubble, but V-Pocket is a trademark registered in Japan. This means that it can't be the Playan player, it has to be registered in the US for that.

Eh? So that means the assumption could be wrong...
What I am certain is, both N64, GBA (SP) and DS have the ability to play movies.

Yes the DS is capable of playing movies, and yes, it seems Nintendo is keen to pip Sony to the post on this one and produce their own way of doing so.
Playan plays MPEG and MP3 on both GBA and DS, so don't be surprised if the whole lot ends up in America eventually.

Let's let it beat the PSP in the gaming industry.
It seems nowadays with all those extra features and crap, the gaming industry has transformed into a gaming/movie/music industry.
