They want to make Metroid Pinball! They've already polluted Mario with silly licenses, and such. Metroid is not such a series to be messed with. And it's made by the same people of Mario Pinball Land/Super Mario Ball! Pokemon Pinball was an incredibly fun game. Bouncing around, the rumble, shooting for those loops, getting zapped by Pikachu... Mario Pinball. It remember the first level. It had like 2 Goombas you had to knock down. The screen was butchered, so it was small. It was slow, it was boring....I won't let some people ruin Samus! Next thing, what's next? Zelda Pinball? There have been no spinoff Zelda games (except those awful CD-i games)

I think a better idea would be 'Nintendo Pinball'. It'd be like SSB, starring different 'tables' from different games. And then, instead of polluting the next franchise with a pointless pinball game, they simply make 'Nintendo Pinball 2'. I mean, it's just a perfect idea!
Which is why Nintendo won't do it. Oh well, I guess I'll get ready for Fire Emblem Pinball.

I though Mario Pinball was great. It was fun.
And insted of dreading it embrace it. This means Metriod sell and they want to make $ of it(they are a company after all). As long as the games are good then you should be happy.
Also I think Nintendo pinball would be tacky and dumb. Metroid pinball can transfer easily. I think Nintendo pinball would be polluting.

My mind on Metroid Pinball is divided. The fact it's developed by Fuse Games is the reason for this divide. Super Mario Ball / Mario Pinball Land was a good looking game with a lot of interesting ideas... but perhaps too many for the game to be anything less than frustrating. I'm playing SMBall right now, trying to complete it. The problem with it is it's too precise... the movements are perfect, but that means it's far too difficult to control for the often precise movements required. It also borrowed a lot of ideas from the Mario series. If they do the same again with the Metroid series then it could be good. All they need to do is learn that with videogame pinball, the key is to give a little bit of scope for those who haven't been playing pinball games since the 1970s. But SMBall is an ok game. It just falls down in areas of ease of play. I've played for five minutes before just trying to hit Mario in the direction of a door... then again to make him go through it, but always hitting the other door on the rebound, forcing them to close. That was a bad idea. I wonder if Fuse would be up for an interview regarding SMBall and Metrid Pinball

Though I have play Mario Pinball, it seems to me from shots I've seen is that there are, like, two obsticles in each room then you move on. If thats right, then that isn't what I think they should do with Metroid Pinball. They should make it more like a typical pinball table with lots of different obstacles.

Well, in typical pinball you get a single table with lots of obstacles. In SMBall, each "room" is a small challenge. Each challenge is different, ranging from defeating the enemies, to solving a puzzle, to uncovering new areas.
The fact SMBall has all these minor challenges along the way is significant, because until now most pinball games stuck you on a couple of tables (with maybe a bonus room or two!) and left you to it until you got bored. SMBall has dozens of smaller challenges, with each level acting like a huge multi-staged table. With five levels that's not too shabby.
Still... maybe they're trying to get away from that kind of thing for the next one. The team have made better pinball games in the past!

I'm just thinking that Metroid is not really suitable for spin-offs... it's the theme of the series that makes me thnk so. I'd rather want a Zelda pinball (What'll be the ball then?)

I agree with YoungLink, except for the Zelda Pinball. Some franchises aren't suitable for spin-offs. Kid franchises such as Mario, Kirby, Pokemon, and Sonic are perfect. More mature franchises such as Zelda and Metroid should remain free of spin-offs. (Fryguy, I don't think Pinball of the Dead is related to House of the Dead. I think Pinball of the Dead is just a pinball game with zombies. Characters in it are not related to characters from other games.)

It's a spinoff of House of the Dead... it's by the same company, it's been confirmed to be a spinoff. Same with Typing of the Dead.
I kinda guessed that Metroid might start getting spinoffs when it came back in such a big way. Before I started this website there were three Metroid games, and one known to be in the pipeline. Since this website started there have been a further four games, a spinoff and another game in the works. That's a big turnaround.
Zelda, on the other hand, has spun-off with the Four Swords series, which isn't so much a spinoff at all, but a variation on the same theme (which is why my lists don't count them as spinoffs). But I wouldn't be surprised if there were spinoffs on the way.

I am divided with Metroid Pinball as well. I mean, I want Metroid Pinball to make money for Nintendo but I don't want Nintendo to start making more Metroid spin-offs. I think Mr. Molecule put it best: "Metroid is not such a series to be messed with." "Metroid Pinball 2"... *groans* ...thinking about it makes me upset! Then, when Nintendo grants Fuse to make a Metroid Pinball 2, Fuse will add a bad name after the Metroid Pinball part. For example: "METROID PINBALL 2: THE RETURN OF SAMUS' BALL"

I wonder if it will be part of the timeline? Metroid has always had easy to follow timeline, but start throwing in spin-offs and it becomes hard tell if you should include them.

I agree with YoungLink, except for the Zelda Pinball. Some franchises aren't suitable for spin-offs. Even though a Zelda pinball is better than a Metroid Pinball, I still don't want to see a spinoff like that. Mario, Pokemon, Kirby, DK, or maybe Wario as you see Warioware... are good to have spinoffs. Maybe a Polarium Pinball (use the ball to make lines) ;D

I honestly don't see Metroid Pinball as a problem.
Just as long as they don't expect us to control it with the Touch Screen since it's on the DS. -.-
Samus can become a ball... so it all makes sense. I mean look at Mario Pinball, they turned him into a flippin' ball. wtf is that?
And as for the matter on Zelda pinball... no
Just as long as they don't make Metroid spinoffs that involve sports...

Aww, come on... can't you imagine grindin' away to hot death metal beats in Metroid Pro Skater '06? Or taking on the forces of evil in a winner-takes-all game of Metroid Badminton?
Although imagine a Metroid space-shooter spinoff, along the lines of StarFox... *drool*
