"DOL-001" is the GCN with 2 video outputs on its back, and "DOL-101" has only one. So, which one do you have? If you have DOL-101, pity you. Digital output is much more better! EDIT: Checked the spelling. I am feeling sleepy now, so I've made a few spelling mistakes.

I have the original... though I don't know if the DOL-101 model was actually released in the US and Europe.

I found the article on the comparism between DOL-001 and DOL-101 at the Nintendo of America website... so I can assume that US has DOL-101 also. I think it's a bad idea to make DOL-101, since I'm one of the 1% who use digital output... or maybe one of the 0.???% users who has BOTH. #nosmileys

Or Australia for that matter Fryguy... (We always get forgotten down here in the southern hemisphere, we do...)

That's what you get for being upside-down all the time!

Does anyone know the difference between digital and analogue outputs?

Yes, the format, wiring and the picture quality are all very different.

Yes, the format, wiring and the picture quality are all very different. So, which one is best? Digital, right?

S-Video is the best... but digital is the usual for good quality.

My launch GC (indigo) was DOL-001. The Platinum version I won in a PGC contest was DOL-101... but the fan didn't work, so they sent me a replacement, which turned out to be a DOL-001. ^_^

Who says the Rev is going to support monitor output? the Gamecube can do it already! Nintendo may not have better graphics than other competitors, but its outut method is very unique and it always has good extendability! Those think Nintendo is crap are real craps. I have the original... though I don't know if the DOL-101 model was actually released in the US and Europe. It was released in the US, according to NoA website. Nobody knows for Europe, and I assume that it's not released in Australia (since the stock of DOL-001 should be enough) Yes, the format, wiring and the picture quality are all very different. So, which one is best? Digital, right? I only have 3 ways to see the output of the GC, so here they go: Digital output (I used it to connect to a monitor using a gender changer, instead of using a TV for input) is the best, and I can see its every pixel very clearly; AV output via TV is the second; AV output via TV card is the worst, but I can use it to record screenshots and videos. My launch GC (indigo) was DOL-001. The Platinum version I won in a PGC contest was DOL-101... but the fan didn't work, so they sent me a replacement, which turned out to be a DOL-001. ^_^ Wow, you're so lucky!

The model of my Nintendo Gamecube Orange Japanese version is a DOL-001, and after using it for over 2 years with the Game Boy Player installed, it still works fine without a problem.
