I think Nintendo know what they're doing.
But they are pushing a line of innovation that could go either way - success or failure. They seem confident - that has worked for them before in getting crazy ideas out there that actually worked - it's pretty much the story of their success - pushing the boundaries in video games to new strange areas that nobody else will touch. That's why I play their games.
Now we wait...

That's why Mario 128 is hidden. Perhaps we should set sights on Spaceworld.

To be honest, this time I think it's Nintendo who steal ideas.
I don't say that it's bad to do so, but Nintendo is already trying to steal the idea of having computer-based facilities like USB ports and using SD cards. They also started to use "MB" as their storage unit. Also, for the DVD thing - it just looks like a PC media and it will surely be ROM-dumped easily! Another thing is the WLAN, which is already used by the DS.
"Not looking like a computer" was once what made Nintendo so special when other competitors got computer-based consoles like PS2 and the Dreamcast.
As for Mario 128, I think it's just a Gamecube demo, not a game. Unless it's something like the Band Brothers, a project being delayed and delayed.

And the websites of most game stores here have GC memory cards measured in MB rather than blocks. It's easier for people to understand.

Mario 128 does not necessarily mean the GCN demo of the same name (though I always thought it was called 100 Marios), but its just a speculative title for the next (non-spin-off) Mario (possibly because it'll be "twice as good" as Mario 64).
So "Mario 128" is in development, though that doesn't mean the GCN demo is being turned into a full game.

That's right.
Too many people take Mario 128 literally. It's just a code-name - the final game will most likely have no link to that demo. And just because it has 128 in it... does not mean it has to be on the GCN. It's a title. A meaningless title.
It will probably be called something like Super Mario Lollipop... ;D (Get it? Sunshine, then Lollipop... get it? Ah, forget it...)

That list would be truely, truely awesome stuff.
EDIT: But 3rd Person Metroid isn't necessary, 1st person was fantastic. But I shall never, ever doubt Retro - MP and MP2 were amazing.

It should be spelled "reliable". This is another post that makes me soooooo excited!!! Metroid Prime 3, Wario Ware, and even a GS (doubt it).... that's GREAT!!!! That's right. Too many people take Mario 128 literally. It's just a code-name - the final game will most likely have no link to that demo. So you mean Mario 128 is NOT what I've learned years ago, showing a hundred of Mario doing meaningless things? Maybe Mario 256...... well we have it already (64*4=256, where Super Mario 64 DS was called Super Mario 64 x 4 in development, which is a much better name than Super Mario 64 DS)

Correct. The GCN demo does not equal the new Mario.
I still call the new Mario "Mario 128", but if I was talking about the GCN demo (which I never have outside of this discussion), I'd call that "100 Marios". There, done. Confusion finished... for me, at least.

Same way you plug in everything else... through the hidden slot on the top with Gamecube controller and memory card ports. Where's my dear Serial Port? Maybe this device is only 90% Gamecube compatible, minus GB Playuer and LAN adapter and...

It wont be compatible with the GB player - Nintendo probably already have a Rev GB Player in the works. And I don't know about LAN. The moral of the story is: keep your GCN anyway.
