I don't really understand why there's euro-spceicifc names to be honest! Maybe one or two if there was copyright conflict etc. but there are many with different names. Curious!

I'll take a couple of stabs. There's Illusion of Gaia (known as Illusion of Time in Europe), in which the main character can travel into a space-like portal to save the game. Also, the Ultima series had warp portals called "moongates" somewhat similar to what you're describing, and there were SNES versions of Ultima VI and VII, as well as Ultima: Runes of Virtue II that was only on SNES and Game Boy. Rarely find myself making this emoji in real life, but as soon as I seen "Illusion of Time" I just knew that was it. I honestly can't believe I finally know what it was; I've been thinking about it for years. I've even poured over the SNES game list multiple times but nothing ever jumped out at me (maybe because it's mainly listed as Illusion of Gaia, EU names just seem to be footnotes)! The only two blurry memories I had, which I was trying to describe was: The save portal and the music from inside it Thank you very much for your help nester, and taking the time to think this over - looking forward to smacking it on the SNES Mini if I can get the hack working to load my own games on it. Also thanks to nocturnal for taking time out too All the best! Craig

Hey Nester
Hopefully the brain wriggler is a welcome refresher then!
Sadly not really.. it's vague in my mind too...
I'd say it was an RPG, and perspective wise if memory serves correct it was overhead, much like Zelda A Link to the Past. Games like that are the ones I preferred around that age; Zelda A Link to the Past being a top favourite
The thing I really hold on to about it is the portals on the floor. They're really the only vivid thing I can remember, they were black with dots/stars in them
Thanks for the reply either way : )
Edit: It might also be worth noting I'm in the UK so it would be UK/EMEA version

Hi all
Found your forum while looking for some game titles now the SNES Mini has been released; it's rekindled a wish to play some old games I played growing up.
I've successfully managed to find the names of almost all of them except one.. I'm fairly sure it was. SNES game but it's possible it was PS1
My memory of the game is fairly bad. The only thing I really recall is that you'd walk around on grey streets/a map or environment and you'd move between environments using black space like portals that were on the ground.
And that's about it! I remember it having nice music too, but that's not very helpful when it comes to 16bit games!
I've tried searching for time travel and space games, but almost everything is too "space" based (as in outer space) where as I believe this game was based on a normal environment and you moved through space or time using portals.
Hopefully that jingles something in someone's memory! Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
