Oh man, its late. 13 days left I think Red Steel Ironically, the first Wii game shown was not a Nintendo one, but was instead this little beauty. Of course, since then it is one of the most anticipated titles for the Wii
At first, there isn't much to differentiate it from other shooters, except for the Wiimote. In this game, its your gun. Just aim and press the B trigger and your golden. Along side that you can also try your hand at a little sword play. Swing the wiimote to slash away at your advocacies. Also, did I mention you can shot gangster style is you hold the wiimote the same way.
In this game, you have to take out the Yakuza, the Japanese Mafia. Along your ways you'll have to go toe to toe in both sword and gun play. The game also boost great graphics and some amazing sound design.
This is defiantly going to be a hot item for your shinny new Wii. It may be so long to the old scheme of console shooters.

I remember when some magazine scans popped up with Red Steel screenshots... those were also the only screenshots of any Wii game at the time. I was quite amazed at how good it looked. The game sounds great but I'm not sure if I'll buy it... I'll see if it gets good reviews. And some excellent news about the Virtual Console: more Nintendo games announced. Not really announced, but it's on the ESRB site so it's pretty reliable. Kid Icarus, Kirby's Adventure, Pilotwings... delicious. EDIT: Never mind about that one... even more here. I feel happy inside

I'm looking forward to the sword fighting sections to be honest as it takes a break from the traditional FPS-style gameplay. Although getting to shoot a load of mafia lackeys sounds just as fun.

Red Steel is one of those games where I think I'll wait for the final review scores before bagging a copy of it. I don't know. I'm not sure about it. It seems to be a lot of hype for what is essentially an FPS.

An FPS with the Wiimote, though. That does make it a bit different.
Although I'm on the fence on it too.

An FPS with a Wiimote (and a Swordfighter with a Wiimote) might sound like a cool new idea now, but a couple of years from now, we're gonna be absolutely flooded with the damn things. However, if Red Steel can blend the two well enough, then it would at least still be original in that regard.
Be interesting to see how the thing ends up.

Same to a lot of the games, I suppose. I still expect we'll have a glut of ports and one-trick-pony games for the first year, and then the real stuff starts coming out.
I foresee something very much like the DS.

I was at EB Games today, and I got to try out Excite Truck on a Wii kiosk. Has anyone else gotten to fondle test drive the Wii yet?
The game was fun, but it felt kind of like the "Wave Race: Blue Storm" of the Wii launch line-up.

I hate it when companies do things like those. I guess it's better than those crap film tie-in games that seem to be churned out by the tonne.
