Still, Thunder Jolt made you see it as an RPG move under a TCG name. Sure, the Shadow Ball is a blatant reference to Mewtwo Strikes Back but it doesn't get as away from its game origins as a green microphone. The microphone would have a "spin-offness level" comparable to that of an Ash Ketchum appearance as a playable character. So right about the female Wobbuffet .

Well... If Misty's allowed to appear in her anime design, and all Pokémon are allowed to have their anime voices... I don't see why they couldn't include that. Besides, the anime is more closely linked to the games than the TCG, where Diglett is Fighting-type and Koffing is Grass-type.

In a sense, SSB gathers Pokémon spin-off resources that fit inside the bounds set by the Pokémon RPG continuity. TCG has been meant to be canon to some extent (remember the early pictures of SSBM), and the moves from TCG are sometimes used in further RPGs. The voices are a latent thing: you have the portable RPG voices, the Stadium series voices, and the animé voices; the animé voices just fit better and it's good they could use them . One of the "flaws" I've seen so far is Pichu learning Skull Bash, but it isn't that major because Pikachu could. Remember that Koffing is not actually Grass-type and Diglett is not actually Fighting-type in the TCG; their energies are. Their weaknesses still show they are Poison-type and Ground-type respectively. Maybe the microphone is not a big deal; I personally dislike it because it has been used in fan games that give too much emphasis to the animé.

On the whole anime voice actors thing; I follow up on the VA scene a little bit, so it's easy enough to explain why SSB/M uses those particular voice actors.
Starting with the Japanese version (Pikachu, Pichu, Purin and Myuutsuu), it helps if you know first and foremost that Japanese voice actors, called "seiyuus," have this mad, crazy fan-following. Voice acting is so much of a larger deal in Japan than it is in the US or UK; the closest thing any of us have to rival a seiyuu in popularity amongst fans would be veteran VA Scott McNeil, who's been in just about every anime dub and American cartoon you can name.
Since seiyuus have such an immense following, it's not hard to see Sakurai (or whomever was in charge of casting voices) going out and specifically hiring the anime voice actors/actresses to fill the verbal roles needed specifically for the SSB series. Not only are those seiyuus qualified and officially recognized to represent Pikachu et al, but they've just got this immesurably vast fanbase. I can't accurately depict it to you, but a close way for me to exemplify it would be this: not casting the Pokemon's seiyuus for Japan would be a faux-paz greater to not casting Charles Martinet to play Mario in the same game in America.
Now, for the American version (Jigglypuff particularly; Pikachu and Pichu retain their Japanese seiyuus and, while Mewtwo does also, they heavily reduce the dialogue he's given to laughs, grunts and screams), they did indeed cast Rachel Lillis to reprise the role of Jigglypuff, but I imagine it came through only because it was simple enough to get her under contract; Lillis has been in almost as many shows as Scott McNeil, so she most likely works freelance.
So there you go; the voice acting thing demystified and neutralified.

That sounds kinda like how big animation studios rely on famous actors to provide the voices for their movies.

You should try the European version. Jigglypuff is at her best when played in German! ;D

I'm partial to the French version. "Rondoudou!"

I only found out a couple of weeks ago that Jiggles' name changed under different languages. My god, the way those voices are sort of 'shoved in' to the English voices is just so bad, and not in a Power Glove sort of way.
[normal speed, pitch and tone] "This games winner is..." [quicker, higher and with a stranger tone] "Roundoudou"

Ahahaha, Rondoudou!! That's the one with the really weird voice. They changed in the original SSB as well.
I think one time I just sat in the training stage hurling Poke Balls in the French and German just to hear those crazy voices. I probably did it in SSBM as well.

I did that, too. ;D
Ever notice that changing the language on SSB would change the way the announcer pronounced everyone's names, but changing it on SSBM only changes the way he says the names of the characters whose names actually change?
I used to just sit on the character select of SSB and listen to the crazy name pronounciation.
"Samoose!"

I think the announcer in SSBM's pronunciation of 'Koopa' sounds way cooler than 'Bowser'. Same with Ice Climber(s).

Has anyone ever noticed that if you are Jigglypuff and you break your own shield, you Smash yourself into the background?? The only thing that will stop you is if there is a wall above you. That's why Pikachu can beat up Jigglypuff anyday!

Three posts in a row? You're edging your way towards a warning! You are on thin ice, Pikachu.
(Note, I deleted the "I agree" one).
