Has anyone ever noticed that if you are Jigglypuff and you break your own shield, you Smash yourself into the background?? The only thing that will stop you is if there is a wall above you. That's why Pikachu can beat up Jigglypuff anyday! *sigh* yes. Thtas old news Pikachu. Also, the characters are well balanced, so anyone can beat anyone. But Jigglypuff could SOOOO take Pikachu. Rest anyone?

Given that Pikachu is a relatively small character, I don't think rest would be easy to pull off. DK, Bowser and Ganondorf yes but not against pikachu.

SSB has Pokémon animé influences, but the marker thing is way too exclusive of the animé. Pikachu's Thunder Jolt attack was exclusive to the TCG, but it still made it into both previous games. And it wasn't even something memorable. Thunder Jolt? What attack in the game is this?

I think he is refering to the Base Set Pikachu card in the trading card game. Pikachu has two attacks: Gnaw and Thunder Jolt.

Yep. I don't know of anything beyond the Base Set. My interest in the TCG died out fairly quickly.

I can definitely beat the wizzle out of DK, Bowser, and Ganondorf using Pikachu, even when they are on Level 9.

You know what's hilarity: people always undermine Pichu because he's such a weak character. I have a friend who not only excels at using him, but is an even match for me when I play Falco (he'll kick my ass when I use anyone else, assuming he's still Pichu).

There's going to be people like that for every character though. But that doesn't mean they should stay. They'll soon find someone else they're happy to use in SSBB, and if they don't then they can just play Melee FOREVER!!
I loved Kirby in SSB, but I didn't like him as much in SSBM. So I moved on to Shiek. I doubt Shiek will be in SSBB at all, so I'll move on to someone else. I intend to move on to Pit (but I said the same about the Ice Climbers 6 years ago... it's all in the experience).

I should master Pichu as well, it's also an choice excellent to annoy arrogant fighters. My rival used Pichu and he manged to endure by 300% in one of my Gamecube Jams.

how the hell do u beat someone with Pichu?? They take damage with every electric attack they do- it's not that much, but it adds up to be that much-and their attacks are not any more powerful than Pikachu's. I can destroy ppl with Pikachu (most of my attacks are Smash attacks/electric attacks), but not with Pichu. w00t mode do u play in, KO fest??
I wish I was Pikachu. Or Raichu!!!

I wish I was Pikachu. Or Raichu!!! Okay, despite your atrocious grammar and misuse of the word 'w00t,' I'll amuse you. First: we always play standard Melee, no increase or decrease in the damage ratio. Usually 5-Stock matches though occasionally we'll dick around in Timed matches. His strategy is a combination of item-hoarding and being so small and fast that he can avoid most attacks people throw at him. He always uses Thunder while moving so he never gets shocked by the blast, and psychs you out so when you think you have him in a corner he turns it all around and sends you flying. He's lethal with a baseball bat--almost always hits because Pichu connects with it both in front and behind himself in one swing. His evasion is so keen that he doesn't mind building up a little self-enflicted damage with attacks that are sure to hurt (he never uses Thunder Jolt, but he won't mind unleashing Thunder, Quick Attack or Skull Bash).

Your not a smart one, but I'll forgive you because most people know jack about Pichu. 1)He does about the same amount of damage as Pikachu, with only a TAD less(about 1-2%) 2)not all of his attack are eletrical. 3)Some of his electrick moves are better. Namely his Smash >A and >B 4)Smallest character(meaning he's hard to hit) So, yeah, you can be good with Pichu.
